A Gamecube game that looks better than any Xbox game around.
But the Xbox has the better hardware?
Well in that case, if Rare can do this for the Gamecube, imagine what they'll pull off when they start working on MS's hardware...
But concerning Rare games for XBOX, I'll be definately buying them - especially if there's a Conkers sequel.
Starfox COULD have used a similar effect (after all, it's just tiling a picture accross the ground) only it probably wouldn't have suited.
Starfox certainly beats everything I've seen of the Xbox so far (which includes DOA3, Halo and PG), but might only be on par with future releases.
Also, being the company behind Conker, I expect the animation will be terrific!
No doubt there will be people that disagree with me, but I think the likes of Halo, Enclave and DOA3 have achieved better looking surroundings. In particular, the grass on Starfox still looks like a green plate than going into the detail of showing every individual blade of grass.
I think Halo's buildings are slightly better while DOA3 and Enclave are way ahead of it when it comes to the architecture and detail of the buildings.
I think graphics wise, Starfox's strong point is its characters. They look very well done and when in close, you can see the detail on Fox's fur.
Overall I think games such as Steel Battalion, Splinter Cell (and looking longer ahead) Halo 2 look a lot better. :-)
Like I said, its impressive, but the characters are stronger than they're surroundings. If Rare do come to the X-Box, it will definatly be interesting to see how they use it. :-)
