But the Xbox has the better hardware?

Well in that case, if Rare can do this for the Gamecube, imagine what they'll pull off when they start working on MS's hardware...

i was dissapointed.

Heh, don't worry, the smaller version of the console will be out soon, probably in a strange M shape or something. Actually, it will probably be portable and/or about the size of a GBA game cartridge.

I wouldn't stop wetting myself if that was the case.

I didn't think Halo (the Ex-Mac game before the buyout) was so bad.
Probably not quite up to the tremendous hype, but VERY good still.

What you say is possibly true, but I doubt it.

As for Xbox failing.
That's a good thing. It means that MS will keep cutting the prices so I can pick one up really cheap! ;-)

I hope to be wrong, but Microsoft are like that.

They like having the money to buy the names and thats about it. As yet, for Microsoft the Xbox is still a failure and in terms of profit will never be a success even if sales are met till about 2007, that doesn't seem likely.

Buyouts like this are attempts at reviving, thats my opinion. Thats what I tell the customer.

Anyway, there will be some advantages to Rare going to the Xbox.
MS's online plans are much more than Nintendo have planned.

I've always wanted to play Perfect Dark and Conker Online...

They were a small part of Rare.

Yes, Rare workers are under a lot of pressure, such is the way of working under such a reputation, and as reports often say, the average Rare designer only lasts 2-3 projects before being burnt out and wanting moving on.

Designers come and go, their underlings aspire to take their places.

Plenty of Rare employees left before Free Radical, and they won't be the last. The pressure MS put will be little more than Nintendo did.

I am just worried because Microsoft have done this to smaller companies before I suppose, they will place A LOT of pressure on Rare to pump a lot of games out. That is true, the old magic of Rare was that it could release one game every couple of years and it would be worth the wait.

Also, Kameo has been in development for over four years, the structure of the game is completed however other projects are being worked on. I believe that 'when' Microsoft do officially buy Rare Killer Instinct will be pushed for release.

Why do I care? I care because Microsoft hate me. They told me on the phone when I tried to do a ring ring on them.
