This all harks back to commercialisation and peer pressure. Even if you cannot afford it there are very few parents today who will not give their children the equivalent of the next child.
Hm. They do not wish to be seen to be impoverished and unable to give their children the same as everyone elses child. It is a vicious circle. What one child has another one 'must' have etc.
Damn - you know what I mean :)

Heh, I always wondered why my teeth were getting yellow. I was confused as I thought only smoking did that. Thanks for the info. I find it hard to drink water though, especially at meal times. It just cuts the taste of the food I'm eating and that annoys me :P

Lol I wasn't saying I thought it was right :P I guess it starts with the little kids...they don't really understand about money etc. and then they'll ask for about a million things when Christmas time comes and so the parents do their best to give them what they want. And so it carries on.

Aye. How bad is it? Like, urine water or brown water? A few of my mates have brown water.

Acceptable? One present is acceptable and should always be. After all, its meant to be the thought that counts, not how much you can get out of someone, and not a competition.
