Ok here we go again. Another question for all you clever people.

I'll start off by apologising - the other two questions i asked, I should have looked into first and when I did I found the answers pretty easily. I'm sorry I spammed up the forum.

But this time I spent the best part of an hour looking for what I wasnt and I couldn't find it, namely because I don't know what it's called.

You see the little bar down there next to the taskbar? (Internet Explorer) The one with the progress bar and on the left says 'Done' ? Well I've seen some websites have little messages that come up there. Please brace yourselves as I once again ask a question -

Has anyone got the scripty code for doing this?

Towards the top of your page (above the page contents, but below the head details) is a tag, change it to that.

is there anywhere specific in the HTML code where I put this? Or can it go anywhere?

I used Cut & Paste to get it into the document, only changing the message that should appear in the status bar.

So, now I'll try that last one you mentioned and report back.

Are you sure you've typed it exactly as it is there? It works fine on my pc. Try this one, I know this works:

It can look alright on links, I was talking about sites which always have a message in the status bar...

And also on Download.com, they don't use it on every link, just some.

Find an interesting program to download, and place your mouse pointer over the links saying "Clock this Download" or Download Now!" and you will get "Clock this Download" or "Download" in the status bar, unless they have recently changed the site.
