It seems to me that a lot of the big hitters are shying away from the lacklustre Xbox because of the lack of units sold and the number of videogames they can realistically shift.

Example:

GTA4 ps2 exclusive

Toca was supposed to be Xbox as well, no news on whether it will ever come out on MS console. PS2 only at the moment.

Tomb Raider was supposed to be dual format as well now it is PS2 exclusive.

Wreckless new version for PS2 where you can run over padestrians, that company obviously realised where the real money is.

Malice at first a Xbox exclusive now on PS2 as well.

These are examples of how market forces work and developers can not afford to sell titles to niche markets like Xbox. This is why a franchise like Abe got it so wrong going Xbox exclusive a once popular brand that was always in the top 10 is no-where to be seen, did it even launch.

PS2 sales for last month 58,000 = 50% of the videogames sold
Gamecube = 36,000
Xbox = 22,000

As I said market forces rule.

He knows because it's been announced - the GTA franchise is exclusive to PS2 until the end of 2004.

'Exclusive' means to the three main consoles, and does not cover PC or hand-held versions.

Your opinion. Mine differs. Therefore it's not 'bollards'. Deal with it.

And the blokes at Game are always correct then, are they?

Hmm... I can think of lot of bigger franchises than Tomb Raider. Mario, Donkey Kong, Metal Gear, hell, even Crash Bandicoot!

Ahem. Nope.

How do you know it'll be a PS2 exclusive? They said exactly the same thing about GTA3 and it's now out on the PC and on it's way to the GBA.

How was it a mistake? Explain that to me.

PS2 is the format of choice because it has been out nearly 2 years longer than the X-Box or GC. Give each of those consoles 2 years on the market and see if they match the sales of the PS2's. I think you'll find that at least 1 of them will.

Oh, and get your facts straight before you start mumbling that absolute crap and drivel that comes out of your mouth, fanboy!

Bollards. Best TOCA game yet, and far more fun to play than other PS2 racers at the moment such as GT3.

Correct. Although as GTA4/Vice City is part of that franchise, he was technically correct.

I wouldn't worry too much about it - it's a disappointing game.

Well, I want it. I've enjoyed all the previous games, and Angel of Darkness looks set to be fantastic. You sound like all the Ninties who slated Ridge Racer V on PS2, only to wet themselves with glee when it was announced for Gamecube.

That said, I agree with you in that it has never yet been announced as multi-format. Though it is sure to appear on PC, as always.

Wreckless was never a multi-format game, at least not originally. It was probably a time-limited exclusivity deal, though. Again I agree that the original is a very poor game; it remains to be seen whether the PS2's enhanced gameplay brings it up to standard.

No comments for that one? Malice is not alone - Splinter Cell is also PS2-bound, as are a few other prior Xbox exclusives.

As I've posted many times, the reason for the switch - and probably the comments - is down to money. Everything was fine with PS2 until MS stepped in with a big wad of cash. There were several interviews with Lanning in PS2 magazines well into the development of Munch's on PS2, where he was saying how fantastic the hardware was.

Then as the game nears completion, the PS2 suddenly becomes a bad platform and they switch to Xbox? No, I don't accept that. Munch's Oddysee was a major title for the PS2, and MS needed some coup to boost the profile of Xbox - so they bought it. Xbox Munch's is a great game, but it looks no different on the Xbox to the final PS2 shots that appeared in the mags before the switch.

Ditto, with 'Xbox' in place of 'PS2'.

There is nothing wrong with boobies look what they done for the Dead or Alive series, shallow game but who carers when the women look like that.
