It seems to me that a lot of the big hitters are shying away from the lacklustre Xbox because of the lack of units sold and the number of videogames they can realistically shift.

Example:

GTA4 ps2 exclusive

Toca was supposed to be Xbox as well, no news on whether it will ever come out on MS console. PS2 only at the moment.

Tomb Raider was supposed to be dual format as well now it is PS2 exclusive.

Wreckless new version for PS2 where you can run over padestrians, that company obviously realised where the real money is.

Malice at first a Xbox exclusive now on PS2 as well.

These are examples of how market forces work and developers can not afford to sell titles to niche markets like Xbox. This is why a franchise like Abe got it so wrong going Xbox exclusive a once popular brand that was always in the top 10 is no-where to be seen, did it even launch.

PS2 sales for last month 58,000 = 50% of the videogames sold
Gamecube = 36,000
Xbox = 22,000

As I said market forces rule.

Where did you get those figures from? And what part of the world are they for?

By the way, Xbox has just dropped its price to £160, effective this friday. I suspect we'll see Xbox outsell PS2 this Christmas, especially with the lineup of Xbox exclusives due out between now and December...

To be honest, I think by the 7 month mark, the PS2 had already established itself. The Xbox needs a bit more work.

You can't, but initial sales will give you a good idea.

Gamezfreak, you are a fanboy, your not a spamming idiot fanboy, but you are a fanboy. Also Hunter: The Reckoning was X-box exclusive and now Gamecube bound, although I thought it looked crap then and it still looks crap now.

Xbox has been out 7 months, How can you determine the console is going to be "poor" in a short period of time? I'm looking forward to the games coming upto christmas and Xbox LIVE.

i think that next year when the majority of the gamecubes big name games are released then the sales will change, i think the cube's sales will increase greatly but i still think that the PS2 will be no1 in terms of sales, purely because of its name, which is a shame because it really doesnt offer anything new from the PSone, apart from the graphics, the controller has changed v little, its loading times arent that much better than the psone, and even the dvd playback quality is poor compared to most dvd players and the x box.

however, i think that the x box will fail ultimatley (which is why im selling mine), not because of the console, but because of the games which it (doesnt) have, a similar scenario to the N64, in many ways the most superior console out when it was launched yet the lack of titles contributed greatly to its demise, nothing to do with the console,

And in Japan, the PSone continues to outsell the Xbox. That's quite an achievement.
