The x-box is by far the best console on the market. What you pay more for in price gets you so much more than other consoles in games.

Because of the hard drive the x-box blows competition away. The fact that you dont need memory cards like on the PS2 means that you don't riped off on games which need alot of memory. And also the games are much better because of the power. If your like me and have a PC that isn't fast enought to play games the x-box is a gift from god. It is much cheaper than a Pc and plays the same games.

I say long live the x-box and bring on the next console from Micosoft

Yeah, but I wouldn't say a new DIMENSION. The GameCube doesn't have a hard drive and it too doesn't have loading times. And have you see the worlds in Super Mario Sunshine? Huge.

It's a good add on, and you'll never need memory cards again. But I wouldn't say it was a new dimension, or revolutionary.

I think he meant the hard drive adds a new dimension to gaming - eg Faster loading times, vast gameworlds ect.

lol Gift from God! No consoles are a gift from god, they all suck in edgy's words ;)

Well, I'm afraid that's a matter of opinion mate. If you're talking about specifications then I suppose it is, but then again you pay extra for that. Either way, I'm agreed that the X-Box and GameCube will soon surpass the PS2 and Microsoft's console has a very strong place in the console wars.

I don't really understand that, are you saying X-Box has the best games? Personally I definitely wouldn't say this (think of the vast array of titles on the PS2!) but again, I suppose it's a matter of opinion.

Well, you do have to buy a memory card (at the same price of the PS2's) if you want to store and transfer data from one X-Box to the other, and as that's a big part of gaming, that's not much an argument.

Now that's a terrible statement, and I can see you haven't thought it through. Never have games been superior due to power, it's all about gameplay. Tell me, if you could choose between the appaling Bubsy 3D on the PSOne or the supreme Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES, which one would you choose? Thought so.

I do like your second comment though. The X-Box does come at a great price for it's capabilities and there are some great games on it. It will certainly attract most die-hard PC gamers. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a gift from God though...

Indeed, but I think the X-Box has a good few years left in it yet :-).

Though your topic was OK as far as console comparisons go, this wasn't really the way to praise the X-Box, and some arguments appear poorly thought through and childish. This is sometimes the way console wars are started, so steer clear of this stuff in future. :-).

I didn't mean to make out his opinions are invalid. What I meant was that he said it as a statement - so it sounded like he meant it as if it were set in stone. That's why I pointed out it was opinion.

But that is his opinion, no matter how stupid it may seem to you he is entitled to believe that the Xbox is the best console. You talk openly about the GameCube being the best (ninties in general) and I agree, not in the ways Master Yoda has put becasue I prefer to go for facts and what I think rather than text which means nothing.

I will have to pick you up on the memory card side Edgy. The Xbox does have a memory card available so if you have a freind that you go to it would be worth chipping in and getting one together, otherwise there is not a need for one. Its not like Microsoft have left gamers without a memory card, they just wanted to focus on the Hard-Drive which is an excellent idea!

Fact or opinion?

Opinion.

What you pay more

Not really - one example: Turok Evolution - exactly the same on all formats (though some have said that the Playstation 2 didn't quite match the standard of smooth and sharp graphics that the GameCube and X-box showed).

Really?

The fact
> that you dont need memory cards like on the PS2 means that you don't

It does mean that to continue your saved games at a friend's house requires lugging a large piece of machinery to your friend's and the games (if they don't have the same games) whereas all you need to do with the Playstation 2 and GameCube is bring small memory cards with you.

And also the games are

Ofcourse! Better power means better games! (sarcasm)

Fair comment, except that the X-box doesn't play the same games.
