The x-box is by far the best console on the market. What you pay more for in price gets you so much more than other consoles in games.
Because of the hard drive the x-box blows competition away. The fact that you dont need memory cards like on the PS2 means that you don't riped off on games which need alot of memory. And also the games are much better because of the power. If your like me and have a PC that isn't fast enought to play games the x-box is a gift from god. It is much cheaper than a Pc and plays the same games.
I say long live the x-box and bring on the next console from Micosoft

Please don't make me laugh, you are acusing me of being dumb and that I apparently should take "my head out of my behind" yet you are the one talking the most rubbish! I don't think that I am Mr.Righteous or the perfect Xbox owner, I just like to look at a broader range of gaming rather than just insulting every console other than the one I own!

Xbox Live is going to be huge, it will be the biggest attempt to push console gaming into the next generation since they decided to scrap cartridges and bring in CD's! Anyway, on with the post. X-Box and PS2 are just as much of a console as the GC. As I said, These little extras are bonuses, NOT a main part of the console.
To me, a console is a machine that is used for the purpose of playing games - no other programmes such as office and paint, etc.
A PC is not a console, its main purpose is for these other programmes. Of course games can be played on PC's and some of them are excellent. But these computers aren't designed specifically with games in mind whereas consoles are.
I've often avoided most PC games as I've found it very frustrating when the games crash which can become pretty often.
So until we start seeing the likes of PC office programmes, systems such as the X-Box and Sony consoles are exactly what they are - games consoles, no ifs, buts or maybes.
And as for Whitestrips (spelling ?), the reason I did that last post was because I've seen that stuff brought up before and the way you worded your post, it was more of a Ninty style statement and with me only getting so long online at the moment, the only things I've seen you write on this forum are exactly whats been listed earlier - UT is crap, MGS2: Substance is crap, etc, etc.

If it was a console it would only play games, but it isn't a console, it also plays music and videos, now which would you rather have? Though I don't want to get into an argument, I'd just like to back Whitestripes up for a section on the whole 'not a console' debate. garbe123 pointed out that he was talking about CONSOLE gaming, so therefore the PC doesn't count.
However, what Whitestripes was trying to say was that the word console is a very loose term these days, and if it was used to it's correct meaning, then the PS2 and X-Box would be classed as entertainment and multi media systems (which is something Sony admitted to).
I read his post before I read garbe123's and savatt's responses, and in no way did I get the impression he was praising GameCube, he was just informing garbe123 that the word console is too vague these days. It didn't seem ignorant at all to me.
To tell you the truth savatt, I wouldn't be all that bothered whether the GameCube had DVD or not (btw, check out the GameQube from panasonic), I would have bought it anyway. Yes, I would have seen it as an asset, but I don't really need it. You get what you pay for, and that's what we have.
