What does w00t mean?

No, don't laugh, I'm 24, I'm a father, I'm not supposed to know these things.

I reckon people that write that are probably suffering with a nasty encrocklement.

I don't hate it at all, I think it's great. Honestly, children can give you so much - but only if you want them, and care for them. There's not a day go by that I don't look at my little babies and smile, and I am thankfull for that.

I actually know enough of the idiots that talk like this from my constant mocking of them... one of the fools still doesn't understand why I yell "Timmeh!" everytime he appears.

As such, I can translate pretty much all of that; it all means "no balls". ;)

Seriously though:

Hax0r = Hacker
w00t = Victory Cry, like a few others said, it means "yay!"
n00b = newbie (newb)
0wned = To beat the living fluff out of someone at something is to "own" them

r0x0r = rock
pwned = same as owned
rar = Not sure on this on, haven't seen it used before,unless you're talking the archive format.

l33t = elite
l33tness = "leetness" etc. etc.

Why do they speak like this? Because when they were born, they were only gifted with 1/8th of a brain, the rest fell out during diahorrea. ;)

I know owned means being beaten quite badly. j00 usually means "you".

As another Dad (of three kids) I can emphasis with Meka Dragon...

You young-un's, speaking in your fancy lingo...the youth of today (grumble grumble)...

Being a father puts you in touch with reality, and tends to make you lose touch with the in's and out's of abbreviated cyber-babble...

You can trace the origins of the word 'woot' back to Planetarion. It's a Spinnerism. Spinner (one of the game's creators) used to say 'woot (-:' when he was excited about something. Now it has spread to other games, by people who've stopped playing Planetarion and who've moved on to something more productive, like games that aren't bug infested and bot ridden.

If you want to know the origins of the word 'woot' pre-Spinner, ask Spinner. He'll probably just tell you it's Norwegian for 'yippee'.
