I'm almost double the points on my opponent in this 2nd game so barring a complete meltdown, I'll be going into my final game with all to play for.

I like the head to head FF thing. All 3 of us lost our first game though.

Austria fast starting with 3 really good chances and 2 of them were one on one but Boruc did really well to keep the score level. Poland also had a chance with a man free but it was either a mishit shot or a pass but it was easily defended.

Austria running the Polish defence ragged as they get into the box free again and Boruc is once again on hand to save Poland again.

Poland then take a surprise lead when the ball gets squeezed across the box, just out of the reach of the defenders and Guerreiro taps it in, despite being offside. Poland have a couple of long range efforts, one over the bar and one easily saved. Poland looked much more settled after taking the lead and took a lead into half time.

Poland certainly started the better after the break and created a good chance which the keeper dealt with. Poland kept piling on the pressure and had a couple of players over at the back after a cross and it was a good save. The ball came back out and the shot that resulted was also saved.

Poland get a free kick and it was struck well and the keeper tips it over the bar. Austria get a corner and the header spins helplessly wide as either side look incapable of creating much.

Poland get another free kick that the Austria keeper can only punch away but the game was fizzling out by this point. Then, out of nothing, Austria get a penalty which Vastic converts. It looked like the usual bumping, barging and shirt pulling that happens but it looked like the ref had warned them all before the kick that he might award something either way.

Austria survive with a contentious draw.

Last 20 minutes of that game were painful.

Fifa will be watching the Germany/Austria match very careful if Austria lose tonight. Especially considering it's Poland who would benefit from Germany losing.

Germany probing away early in the second half but Croatia had the early chance when a Modric shot was saved by Lehmann and almost squirmed from his grasp for a corner.

Croatia swing a cross in, deflected by Podolski, defeated Lehmann, bounced off the post and into the path of Olic for an easy tap in for 2-0.

Germany's frustration grows as Krancjar's effort is saved by Lehmann. Germany get a cross bouncing around in the box and it lands straight at the feet of Podolski to smash it in for 2-1 with 10 minutes left.

Germany almost caught out after a subsitution but Lehmann saves it. Croatia get the ball across the face of goal but Modric could not make contact. Schweinsteiger pushes Leko after a challenge and got the first red card of the tournament.

Germany lose in a slight shock.

It was a slow start with both teams frustrating each other and not many clear cut chances. Gomes for Germany was offside twice and crosses for both sides weren't finding their targets.

It all changed when a cross came in for Srna who stretched and poked the ball past Lehmann for 1-0 Croatia. A gap opened up from a knock down from Olic and Krancjar was just put off enough to sky it over the bar.

A freekick from Ballack was well saved and Germany start to gain some momentum. A Frings corner finds the head of Metzelder and he's annoyed to have put the free header over.

Croatia hit back at the other end when the ball finds its way across the box, Olic chips it in Krancjar who controls and fires a shot which forces a point blank save from Lehmann.

Germany have a bit to do in the 2nd half.

Although I hate to pick Ronaldo, I know it's guaranteed points because you know he is going to have one good game in a tournament like this.
