This is the place to discuss Euro 2008 starting June 7th. I, as ever, will be watching as much as I possibly can and I'll try to keep this up to date with match results, goalscorers and possibly a review of each match.

Captain scores double, so why you've picked whathisname over someone like Torres is beyond me.

I'm ready for Euro 2008 now. I've got my wallchart and my Excel spreadsheet program. All I need now is the football!

Thats the changes i made. I've no idea whether Boulahrouz is a first choice for Holland and Scolari has a habit of dropping Deco to the bench but otherwise i'm quite happy with that team.

Cech
Lahm
Senderos
Boulahrouz
Rozehnal
Schweinsteiger
Deco
Pirlo
Robben
Torres (C)
Toni
Derdiyok

Hmmm, Czechs had most of the play but the Swiss had the better chances. The Czechs need to find the final pass and they'll score. They may need to shake it up a bit, perhaps throw another forward on.

Didnt think much of the atmosphere considering it was the home team. Wasnt the greatest game either for all the effort.

The Swiss hate noise. I'm surprised they allowed the noisy Euros into their country. :)

Anyway, the Czechs finally found the killer pass, Sverkos wasn't offside (the other guy retreating was but it's all about active/inactive rubbish) and sliced the ball home.

The Swiss probably should have had a draw because they created good chances and should have scored when they hit the bar after Cech parried a shot into his path. I just remembered Yakin's free header that he should have buried.

The Swiss had plenty of chances, Yakin, the sub who hit the crossbar, should have had at least 1 penalty. Derdijok should have came on earlier, the guy is quality. Have to feel sorry for Frei though, captain and he lasts 45 minutes in his home country.
