If you let newbies vote this time, we'll get Natbuc or someone as notable. Don't let them, and it'll be someone good like Mr Happy.

I think that anyone who is caught using mutiple acconuts to voteshould get banned. Maybe it would be an idea to say anyome who has been on the forums longer than 3 months (so they have at least seen one election) can vote, unfortunatly that would not allow me to vote, but you can't have everything. Anyway, I don't feel that I have been here long enough to know everyone well enough to vote.
But with the number of regulars vastly outnumbering the number of newbies, would newbie votes cause a serious shift in the trend?

No I gathered that much, but what I was getting at is the number of regulars with multiple personalites, you see - their accounts aren't all newbied. Several (understatement) people here have more than one account with regular status, and that is what I meant when I said it differs in no way from regulars using a second account to boost votes, hope that clarifies things for you.
I've had an account here for a year, now I've read the forums a fair amount, but posted a lot less because I never had the time nor could motivate myself to do so - its only recently I started contributing, but that doesn't mean I'm not clued up. ;)
That's my campaign done and dusted. Should work

I said IF people voted that way; it'd make more sense since we're in a gaming forum.

But you wouldn't say no, right?
:D
Just inform them you're blue and nekkid and will be reappeared in X-Men 2. Then they'll vote you. Or say you'll scan your breasts again. Either one.

Oh yeah cos thats gonna happen. Loads of people hate me.
Meh,I already know I'm better than most if not all of you. I don't need a fancy colored name to remind me.
The reason we say take away the newbie vote is because people CAN and WILL create new accounts and vote twice. It means anyone (newbies, regulars, maybe even a notable) can create a new account a couple of days in advance (so they're not a JAT) and vote in the elections twice, three times, whatever. And this may mean that some well informed newbies don't get to vote, but I think it's a measure that's necessary to stop the elections being a farce (which many people feel the last one was).
But anyway, the majority of people who know what they're talking about in regards to the people on this forum are regulars, simply because that means they've been here a fair while, and posted a fair amount. If you've been here for a long time and aren't a regular it means you aren't on that much (or you do read other posts and don't post many of your own...) Obviosly it's not black and white, some regulars may not know many people and will probably end up voting for someone who they just happen to see a fair amount, but the regular system is all we have. Maybe it's not fair, but it's also not fair having someone elected because they had the best campaign thread which persuaded the most newbiees to vote for them...
*End rant*
