After being given a copy of Parachutes it seems to me that there's very little variety in what they do, most of their songs sound very similar.
Even the new one, In My Place, sounds like it could have been pulled from the Parachutes album. Can they do nothing that sounds different?
Radio 1 DJ's are trying to promote the record, get it to number 1, but it's really not that good.

Bollix. Idlewild rule fullstop. Download "I Live In A Hiding Place." Then return on bended knee and beg my forgiveness.
And Thom whines.
Idlewild rule though. I like the lyrics, even though half of them leave me scratching my head wondering what the hell Roddy's on about. They're great live though, saw then support Ash back in '99.
Mind you, Supergrass are back now, so that should lighten things up a bit.
Supergrass rule. Especially Cheapskate.

Because their first album was such a big success, everyone thinks they must be good then just because they got a lucky break.
The most boring, down damp voice ever
And before you anything about Yorkie he has a great voice when he uses it so ner
Bit bland and boring. I thought Parachutes was good, not amazing.
Shiver, Yellow and Trouble were top songs.
I read in Q that 'In My Place' was nearly on the first album and I liked it at first but i've heard it to much since.
I downloaded a song called "Clocks" off the album which is the best I've heard from them.
As i said... they're alright.
