What's all the fuss with Coldplay?

After being given a copy of Parachutes it seems to me that there's very little variety in what they do, most of their songs sound very similar.

Even the new one, In My Place, sounds like it could have been pulled from the Parachutes album. Can they do nothing that sounds different?

Radio 1 DJ's are trying to promote the record, get it to number 1, but it's really not that good.

They're more whingy crap, it seems that someone's surgically removed their balls. They have no life in them, stupid bands with their boring songs, someone needs to kick em in the nuts and tell em to liven up.

I like Coldplay. Thought Parachutes was good and will be probably get the new one at some point in life.

Download Shiver, from Parachutes. Cracking song.

I've downloaded some new songs and they're good

Good Luck to them... better than a lot of stuff out there.

Yeah, my two mates saw them opening for someone at a concert or something. Then they saw them on one of the music channels (their first vid) so Wal went into HMV and asked for their album. They stared at him with blank faces. One week later, they were all the rage with their album everywhere. And HMV claim their staff are "in the know"

Coldplay are alright. But I know what you mean about how similar all their songs sound. The songs I like are Shiver, Yellow and Trouble's ok.
I haven't really heard much else from them, and I don't really like that new song for some reason.

I've also heard they're pretty good live too.
Seen them live on TV a few times. :)
