I'm fed up with the really noisy fans in my PC - they're driving me insane. I've had a look at a Water Cooling Kit available from Maplins, with the following equipment:

2 x Waterblocks
1 x thermal paste
9ft of ¼" silicon tubing
1 x Fill jug
4 x Different Mounting Clips
1 x Slot 1/A adaptor
3 x Slot and Socket hold down devices
1 x P4 device
1 x 12v Pump/Res
1 x Box full of hose clamps/screws.

I have no idea what this means for the welfare of my PC once installed, but I need to know, for those who've used or know more about water cooling, if the water tank/reservoir required is relatively small (ie. fits into a small room), and where the coolers will be installed ie. on the CPU, GPU, but is there a need for anywhere else?

I'm asking this as the two additional fans I have on the case produce the loudest noise, and I want to get rid of these as well.

Finally, a thing about Peltier devices - I've heard about it can channel heat so that it's very hot on one side, and cool on the other - where does this heat go without boiling the PC - would a water cooler be a good thing to use next to the Peltier device?

I hope someone can help.

A baybus is something which allows you to control the voltage to molex connectors in your PC - typically fans and the motors used in water cooling.

To answer your question - although I don't really know why I should - the Zalman is good at moving heat away *quietly*, although in terms of the amount of heat it *actually* moves away it's pretty average. It's advantage comes in having the ability to accept large fans, which typically move more air with less noise.

If your not into major overclocking then it is an ideal way to go, heatsinks are all about surface area and the flower has loads to pull the heat from the cpu core, i take it you have decided not to water cool then mate.

To be honest, no.

On a different topic (although still to with cooling), do yo reckon the Flower Cooler design really can improve the heat transfer from the CPU?

Well, I think DeltaJava is being pretty funning hypocritical here, seeing as he was the one who asked me about how I was planning to cool this, of which a baybus is pretty damn central...

Um, do you know what a baybus actually is?

speaking of that they get bloody hot in the summer but no need for drastic actions.

You should do what I do, see the name Turbonutter and ignore the post, it'll either be confusing, or a load of crap. Generally more toward the later..
