"Cornell and Rage demos"

Wow.

I just downloaded as many as I could get, and they are spectacular. It doesn't really sound like Rage because there's no rapping, but the guitars are similar. On the upside, Cornell has never sounded better, and all of the songs are far better than anything Soundgarden ever did. And that is quite a feat to pull off.

Allegedly the album's going to get a release despite the problem that Cornell has reportedly left. Also It should be released under the band name Civilian. And I hope it does, because the stuff I've heard is jaw-droppingly good.

I've got a feeling that a few of the ones I downloaded were Soundgarden songs retitled, but the rest I'm pretty sure are the genuine article, having compared them with lyrics pages. Anyway this is the track listing if you're interested in downloading anything (I'd recommend Gasoline from what I've heard so far because it rocks)

Sure thing, if you send me an e-mail I'll run a copy off tonight. Some of the stuff sounds quite weird, when you hear a typical Rage riff wih Cornell singing over it. In fact we got a better bomb sounds as if Cornell found a Zach de la Rocha rap and sung it instead. But it's damn good. Quite a lot of stuff is quite laid back though, and Morello only has a couple of "is he really making that noise with a guitar" moments. They're only demos though, so I don't know whether more stuff's going to be done before they get released, though they do sound pretty finished.

And to Mr Nice guy, I've not heard of the Callings, but I'll download something off i-mesh now and tell you what I think.

Hmm, I wouldn't mind a copy, if you're offering. Hell, I'll give you a GAD. I'll send you my address, if that's okay and you don't mind being seen fraternising with the staff. I only ask because I trust your taste in music, and am a big Rage fan. *brown noses*

I ordered lots this morning, new Primal Scream album, new Beth Orton album and new Coral album, I've heard good things about all three. It's good to spend money to help me through the Monday morning blues.

"We got a better bomb" is the most Rage-like track, the rest is more like Soundgarden but frequently sounds slightly Chili Peppers-ish..

If you've got the spare CDs after all the copying you're doing, I'd appreciate having a copy. I'd copy you an album that I've got that maybe you'd like, if you want. Saves The Day perhaps, or Idlewild? I'll send you a copy of Pink Robots as well, if I ever manage to listen to the bloody thing..

Sure thing, if you leave an e-mail address I can get an address and should be able to send it on Monday or Tuesday. I'm not too bothered about the blank cd, because I've got quite a lot at the moment so it's not really a problem.

There's another song floating around by them called 'Monsterio', FYI.

I didn't like the demos much...I even preferred Soundgarden, and I only really like about three of THEIR songs.
