Hats off to Sony unlike MS and Ninty they are there to make gaming affordable unlike the others who are only interested in profit.

Sony scored a big hit with the PS1 and platinum games, which were affordable quality games that had to sell a certain amount to turn platinum, while N64 was still trying to sell cartridges for £64.99 Sony's platinum range came in at £19.99 and proved a big hit.

I am glad to see they are carryiing on the tradition with there PS2 platinum range. I mean lets face it GT3 is a far superior game to Project Gotham and yet it is have the price. They say you have to pay for quality but on this evidence you don't.

I know that. You still need the upgrade disc, though. It's just the remote control comes with the disc. That's what I was trying to say.

Yes you can, shadow, thats the X-box your talking about.

The PS2 remote comes with a DVD upgrade that allows you to search quicker and other things

However its still not worth 20 quid.

Your getting confused.

You can use the DVD function with the PS2 pad. you need to buy a remote to use the X-Box DVD function.

Don't forget. When you buy the PS2, you can't use the DVD function unless you fork out another £20 for the upgrade disc, which comes with the remote control.

Sony are the only company that deliver affordable gaming.

---

That was the line that started this whole thing off. Let's just get our facts correct here.

Sony are the only company that deliver affordable gaming are they?

Why are their games usually about £40 when GCs are usually about £35?

Why is their console £300 at launch when compared to the GC's £130 at launch? Oh, and don't say they have a DVD player included. Only good DVD players normally cost about £170, but the Sony one isn't as good as those ones, unfortunetly.

Why are there only 2 controller ports when there are 4 on GC and X-Box? Is it because they want to charge you an extra £30 for a multi-tap? Yes, I think so.

Well, said and I wanted to make one fair gesture. PS2 doesn't own those games but nintendo have got Resident evil and eternal darkness to name two exclusives. Oh and don't forget that Mario is owned by nintendo what have sony got by that standards as an exclusive?

Nintendo used to do their own version of the 'platinum' range a hell of a long time before Sony even ventured into the videogames market!

In America, there are SNES games under the 'Player's choice' range, and in the UK, I have got a SNES game (Super Mario Kart) and the Game Boy game (The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening) both in red boxes with a gold coloured logo on them saying "Nintendo Classics". This was the UK version of Players Choice as far as I can remember and these games were sold cheaper than newer games.

Nintendo haven't even had theeir console out for half a year yet!

Give them time, and they'll release a Platinum style "range" eventually.

Now, if I was being pinned down in a flame war, I might have poijted out the spelling error to annoy people, but I would never have claimed that it was incomprehensible, since I would only then come across as stupid... Just like you do now...

So Extreme G 3 isn't newer than GTA3 is on the Playstation 2?

I think you've got your wires crossed somewhere...

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
