Rio Ferdinand has in the last 15 minutes reqested a transfer away from Leeds United!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Risdale surely cant make a unhappy player stay at Leeds despite what he has said about turning down any request by Rio...
Espect a United bid v.soon :)
Leeds chairman Ridsdale said in a statement: "I can confirm that Rio Ferdinand has asked for a transfer and this request has been rejected.
"Secondly no bid for Rio worthy of consideration has been received from any football club.
There is a difference between "no bids have been made" and "no bid for Rio worthy of consideration" - this means they have recieved a bid(s?), but don't think it is enough. It's turning into a cat and mouse game played through the media.

Let him go.
The more dodgy defenders at United, the better! :-)
Ridsdale: Ferdinand is going nowhere.
Leeds chairman Peter Ridsdale has blasted the continued speculation surrounding Manchester United's interest in Rio Ferdinand.
Ferdinand is yet to formally announce any decision over his future, although reports claim United have already tabled one bid.
However, Ridsdale has again insisted that any transfer request from Ferdinand will be rejected by the Leeds board as they have no intention of selling their prized asset, particularly to Manchester United.
But despite his repeated statements, speculation that Ferdinand has decided to leave Elland Road continued, and Ridsdale's patience is wearing thin.
He said: "Someone, somewhere seems to be conducting this whole business through the media and I find that very disturbing.
"How can I respond to anything when, as far as I am concerned, Rio is a contracted player with Leeds United? The only thing I can confirm is that if Rio Ferdinand hands in a transfer request, it will be turned down.
"We've had no offers for Rio Ferdinand so it amazes me he has a choice to make. He is going nowhere. Where does he think he is going - into thin air?"
what do you lot make of this?
Ferdinand has been warned by PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor that he could face a ban from the game if he walks out on his Leeds contract.
He said: "Someone in the position of Rio Ferdinand cannot just walk out, as players up to the age of 28 have a three-year protected period on their contracts.
"If he did so, sporting sanctions would apply not only to him but also to the club that signed him. That club could be fined, have points deducted or even excluded from competitions. It is very unlikely anyone would risk that."
