Leeds rejected the lower two bids. And Risdale said firmly that Rio wasnt going anywhere for less than the british transfer record.

£30 million is too much.... United should be playing hard ball, not showing off at the size of their bank balance. Leeds badly need the money, and with the transfer market seemingly caving in, they will struggle to raise much from selling other members of the team. United are in the better bargaining position here, and they should be using that.

The deal is done, subject to a medical and personal terms which should not be a problem.

£30 million, if he solves the defense problems and Utd go on to win the Premiership and the Champions League this season then it is money well spent. At 23 he still has 10 years in him at £3m a year for the fee and wages of £3.5m it seems a lot but that is the way at the moment.

I wouldn't say £28 Million too much. He is bound to be at least that after this years World Cup.

Leeds are now saying the deal has to be done by 12.00 noon Sunday.

They are believed to be holding out for £30m up front.

Risdale confirmed that United made another bid today, thought to be around £29M but he rejected it...

Come on...£29M is more than reasonable surely.
