Rio Ferdinand has in the last 15 minutes reqested a transfer away from Leeds United!!!!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Risdale surely cant make a unhappy player stay at Leeds despite what he has said about turning down any request by Rio...
Espect a United bid v.soon :)
It seems that Ridsdale is being persistant and will stop at nothing in order to keep his talented (but thick) club captain - even if he wants to leave. And even if they do need the money to clear their £70m (or was it £17m??) debts!
I heard that they'll keep him there even if he wants to go, and they'll treat him like dirt in the reserves untill he gets his act together and realises he still has a job to do at Elland Road.
Shame really... this could seriously mess him up and damage his performances for England when you think about it...
Rio will be flying off to the Far-east with Leeds on Saturday and Ferguson has said that he wants somthin to happen quickly...
hmmmm, so it looks like its £30M+ or nothin...

Ferdinand in Leeds pledge
Rio Ferdinand has pledged he will give his "full commitment" to Leeds if his proposed move to Manchester United fails to materialise.
Leeds have already rejected a bid of £20m from the Old Trafford club, which chairman Peter Ridsdale described as "derisory".
United are expected to increase their offer for the England defender, but in talks on Thursday Ferdinand reassured Ridsdale he is prepared to see out his Elland Road contract if the Reds drop their interest.
Leeds rejected the 23-year-old's transfer request on Wednesday and will now wait to see if their Premiership rivals come back in with an improved offer.
"I met Rio Ferdinand today and we had amicable and constructive talks about his future," Ridsdale said in a club statement. "I stress that we do not wish to sell Rio under any circumstances and would like to see him fulfil the contract he signed in November 2000.
"I also stressed that Leeds United have not received a bid from any club that would come anywhere near meeting the valuation we put on a player we believe to be the world's best defender.
"Rio has assured me that if the position remains as it is he will give his full commitment as a player and captain to Leeds United."
And with other European clubs failing to gather enough funds, it seems that the path is becoming cleaer for Rio to move-on to United!
Hopefully Ridsdale WILL see sense and let him go when he gets back from his holiday to meet with Rio.
I doubt Venners will be so hasty as to say yes though! :S
Leeds have also said that they'll accept any bid of £30-35m!
Risdale said this to PA sport
"We received an offer some weeks ago but that was rejected out of hand as we felt it to be derisory.
"But we are a public company, I am merely an employee and I have a duty to shareholders to maximise the value of our assets.

I hope we sign him soon so I can get his name on the new Nike shirt :)
