£30 million is too much.... United should be playing hard ball, not showing off at the size of their bank balance. Leeds badly need the money, and with the transfer market seemingly caving in, they will struggle to raise much from selling other members of the team. United are in the better bargaining position here, and they should be using that.
The deal is done, subject to a medical and personal terms which should not be a problem.
£30 million, if he solves the defense problems and Utd go on to win the Premiership and the Champions League this season then it is money well spent. At 23 he still has 10 years in him at £3m a year for the fee and wages of £3.5m it seems a lot but that is the way at the moment.
