Any of you lot got any shares?

No matter how good of a invester you are, any shares you have at the moment you have probably lost money. I have anyways :(

I could have sold my HBOS shares for £8.50 a few months ago but now they are about £5.50 :(

Could be a really good time to invest at the moment...Anybody got any good tips?

Im using a buy and hold strategy at the moment, sticking only to firms that pay out dividends and re-investing the dividends in shares of the same firm.So that in the long term the price per share goes down and I can then sell in the long term at a profit, regardless of whether or not the price has risen since I purchased the shares.

I actually owned some Corus group shares about a month ago (bought @ 25p and sold for 27p)

Wish i had held on to them...rose from 30p to 35p in the last two days!

Definitly. They are just undervalued. I think they should be around the 130 mark at least.

O2 is another one that looks quite good just now. At 53p its is off its highs of a few months ago, although is nowhere near its lows. Being the smallest of the big 5 mobile phone companies in Europe and without the benefit of a big parent it is weak. A takeover will probably emerge in teh next year or so.

Ive realised that with FTSE100 stocks you're generally safe, because chances are they WILL rise after some time.I wish i hadnt sold off my BAA shares in panic.<--made my first loss :~( but hey thats what its all about.

I had to though the spokeswoman for BAA in an interview following the BA walkouts didn't sound too convincing.
