No matter how good of a invester you are, any shares you have at the moment you have probably lost money. I have anyways :(
I could have sold my HBOS shares for £8.50 a few months ago but now they are about £5.50 :(
Could be a really good time to invest at the moment...Anybody got any good tips?

Guys you're be well advised to log into the motley fool website and read the various articles and more helpfully the discussion boards for the different listed companies, the posters have interesting discussions, predictions etc...

Marconi launched new shares (the ones i was talking about investing in), at their low i think they were at about 56p, but they then went onto a high of 91p.
My savings would have bought 892 shares at 56p.
The difference in price of 35p would have turned my £500 investment into around £800.

But whats all the - dare I say it - "nonsense" about investing in Marconi above??

Even so, the shares are now just under 90p.

NO NO NO NO they're not the same old shares...
When the value of Marconi shares fell to the point of being ridiculous, they then decided to float new shares at around 60p I believe, and shareholders of the devalued shares were told that 59 of the old shares equalled new one share... something like that
