I'm not sure whether anyone will be interested but I'll give it a whirl. Just to liven the forum up a bit.

I'm going to start a World Championship on Grand Prix 4 and you have to pick a driver from the list below. I will give you the race results when I have them. Remember that all the cars and drivers will be equal so the race results will be completely random.

I'm taking it that you don't have any of the other Grand Prix games. I would recommend it but you need a fairly meaty bit of kit to get good graphics on it.

Damn the Minardi transmission, it's retired me from about three races.

Ah well, at least I got the fastest lap in the race before last, and I still have my 10 points from the start.

Have we had all different winners? Rather more exciting than the real thing at the moment eh, Matt. {:)

Also Matt, would you recommend I buy Grand Prix 4 for my new PC? I remember playing the first ever one.

Another 2nd place for Bernoldi, and that puts me on top of the Drivers Championship.

Villeneuve strolls home

Jacques Villeneuve has won the Spanish Grand Prix with a lights to flag victory. He leapt off the line and never looked back. The race was packed with incident and stunning drives.

The rain was teeming down at the start but stopped after 7 laps. A dry line emerged on lap 25, throwing 2 stoppers into chaos. 1 stoppers adapted their strategy and benefitted.

The changeable conditions caught numerous drivers out including Trulli, Yoong, Ralf Schumacher, Barrichello, Montoya, Sato, Button, Frentzen, Heidfeld, Irvine, Webber, Fisichella, Massa, De La Rosa and Coulthard.

There were plenty of retirements in this race as well. Frentzen was first to go when he ran wide and went straight into wall on lap 8. McNish was running in a strong 2nd place when his rear suspension failed on lap 17. Ralf Schumacher spun on lap 25 and couldn't get out of the gravel. Fisichella's engine blew up on lap 38. The rain then began to fall on lap 56, catching out Barrichello, who ran wide, came back onto the track straight into Trulli and they both went out on lap 64. Coulthard also went out with one lap to go (lap 64) with an engine fire.

Nothing could stop Villeneuve who was never challenged for the lead. Bernoldi kept his nose clean and got 2nd place propelling him to the championship lead. It was the end of misery for Michael Schumacher and Ferrari as they finished on the podium in 3rd. Raikkonen and Massa finished 4th and 5th and Button came from last on the grid to take 6th place and 1 point.

Great stuff Matt. Sorry I have not been here but I have been away as you know (Did you miss me?)

Glad to see I am 5th over all but I am not pleased with my poor qualifying time, ahh well I may be able to get back in the top.

I hope your predictions are right.

Early days yet. It's only round 5 of 17. I predict that everyone will score points by round 10.
