As for what you said about the PS2, I feel totally the opposite. This is really freaky as I feel exactly the opposite about the PS2 and Xbox, I have had more fun and better games on my Xbox in 2 and a half months than I did with my PS2 in 8 months. This is of course my opinion and as you said others will feel different but I can't help the way I feel.
If I can give you one promise it will be that the Xbox by christmas will have the greatest games available for a long time! Although you are not happy with the launch I am sure that by christmas you will be back in here telling me that I was right! I have really enjoyed the launch titles but the ones coming out later this year look mouth watering.
Will you be getting Splinter Cell?
> I beleive the only reason that the PS2 sold is because of GTA3.
Personally, the main reason I bought a PS2 was becuase of GTA3, but it aint the only reason the PS2 has been doing so well. It was doing very well before GTA3 was released.
> the Xbox has got all the best versions of the ports.
Is that including the apparenty improved versions of Malice and Wreckless that are going to the PS2?
> Do you have an Xbox?
Yes, had one since launch (which I'm sure you already knew), and which hasn't been used for almost ten weeks now. And I also have a Gamecube and powerful PC, apart from my PS2.
So no I'm not biased; I've no need to be, as I can pick and choose the best versions of any particular game. But as I said, there is precious little of any quality on Xbox to choose from at the moment. I had more enjoyment out of my PS2 in the first three weeks than I've had out of the Xbox in the first three months.
Of course this all my personal opinion; I don't expect anyone to agree, and if you don't, that's fine and I'm glad you're happy - but my opinion is the only one that's important to me, because it's £300 of my money that is currently going to waste.
I am hoping that this will improve drastically this side of Christmas, otherwise come January I will be selling the Xbox.
> You said that the PS2 has great titles like GTA Vice City, isn't that
> the only good game coming out on PS2 this year?
Heh, dream on!
> Great titles like:
Of the 18 you list, at least 9 are due on other formats, and 8 of those are (in my opinion) the best games on the list. Still, it can only be good for the machine.
> I beleive the only reason that the PS2 sold is because of GTA3.
Well if that isn't an admission that Xbox doesn't currently have the software to compete, I don't know what is.
Have you forgotten the 18 million units plus that PS2 had sold prior to the release of GTA3? PS2 is a damn good console with damn good games - that's why it sells.
Xbox is also a damn good console, but the range and quality of the games is currently insufficient for a console that promised so much so quickly. It should improve by Christmas. Personally I hope that doesn't prove to be too late.
You said that the PS2 has great titles like GTA Vice City, isn't that the only good game coming out on PS2 this year? Tekken 4 will be good but then again DOA4 is due out on the Xbox in the next year! Great titles like:
Hunter The Reckoning (5/7/2002)
Bruce Lee: Quest For The Dragon (1/8/2002)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer (9/8/2002)
Unreal Championship (1/9/2002)
The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind (27/9/2002)
Colin McRae Rally 3 (27/9/2002)
WWF Raw is War (1/10/2002)
Medal of Honour: Frontline (1/11/2002)
Metal Gear Solid Substance (November 2002)
Turok Evolution (6/9/2002)
Operation Flashpoint (November 2002)
Shenmue 2 (November 2002)
Dead To Rights (October 2002)
SWAT: Global Strike Team (November 2002)
Soul Calibur 2 (December 2002)
Blade 2 (December 2002)
Tom Clancys Splinter Cell (November 2002)
Tom Clancys Ghost Recon (December 2002)
Don't get me wrong but aren't they all amazing titles due out this year? There are more to come that will score highly, but these games should break the 85% mark at least! (Elder Scrolls already got 94% from IGN and Hunter has scored over 80% in the 11 reviews I have read). Although a couple of them are multi platform so far I feel that the Xbox has by far delivered the best version of all the multi platform games available.
I mean why should'nt they be? They are Excellent games and top sellers, i dont think shops will bring em off the shelves......
Cyclone, U dont like the XBOX, admit it. You seem to put down every single game you play. If you dont like the xbox, dont post here critising it.
