Sod you, Bill Gates lover!
;)
As for the thing about concentrating on 1 player experiences, thats all well and good, but in my opinion a key factor to raising a games longevity so it isn't a case of heaven for 20 minutes is multiplayer options. Would Mario Kart last very long as a one player game ? I doubt it. When you look at Goldeneye, its a great game even now, but a key part of it was its multiplayer options. Basically, most gamers enjoy the competition or co-op situations of multiplayer. Microsoft know this and thats the reason they've been working hard on X-Box Live. Its all very well having 4 player modes, but 32 players is a hell of a lot better and instead of being in a team of 2, you can experience being in a team of 16.
Of course there is the option to link up X-Box's to achieve this, but X-Box Live will offer another way of experiencing this with even better twists. Besides playing with and against people all over the world you have the chance to experience new things in console games wether its large teams in an FPS game or being a part of a large community in an online RPG such as Star Wars Galaxies. Also, another thing that shaping up very nicely is the head set you communicate with. Now it seems its not going to be a simple case of just talking to everyone with your normal voice. Most already know that it will allow you to alter your voice so you can sound more like the character your controlling or just mess around in general. But lately, its been said that there will be some other neat little touches to it in that say your walking through a cave in an RPG with a group you've got together with, your voice will apparently echo to add the feeling of walking through a cave. If your under water, then your voice could gurgle. Plus theres talk of something on the lines of online karaoke. Obviously not going to appeal to everyone in the West, but no doubt this will have the likes of Japan interested.
And whats with the sniggering at the mention of Sega bringing innovative games to Microsoft ? In my opinion, I don't care if its Microsoft themselves, Sega or anyone else, if they're making excellent games, I want to play them. Nintendo might do well on home grown titles, but thats not the be all and end all of things. Microsoft might not have a huge list of home made innovative titles, but they provide the hardware for the developers with the imagination to make innovative titles.
Anyway, heres the X-Bow list from what I know. (If I leave anything out people, feel free to add them).

As is the GC.................?!
> , take a look at that list and that's just by the end of the year. Me thinks you need to do a little more research before you start saying things like that.
Savatt's right. Xbox line up is bigger. Take a look in my Release dates topic to see. 314 games are schedules to be released on xbox, and the list will grow.
Xbox isn't down, its just getting started. People like you are quick to get the boot in but I see MS getting stronger and stronger in the console market over the next couple of years. What do you people expect MS to do sit back and say "ahh well, we gave it a good shot but lets call it a day with consoles" No way, if anything MS will be more determined and focused. MS and hopefully Xbox as a franchise are here to stay in the console market.
XboxLive by the way, sounds fantastic and isn't just another online service. It really could redefine the way we play games in the future. But seeing as you have read all about it, you would know that, right?
Tiltawhirl gets involved too!
(mind if I copy that list mate?)
*Be warned though Tilta - Savatt is a good poster, not a usual fanboy - although he is a bit smelly...................*
;)
> All 3 consoles line ups are nice. Lets leave it at that.
Damn I wish i'd read that before I went to the trouble to type all that crap out.
> the GC doesn't have the same size line up as the X-Box by a
> long shot over the next year
How can you say that, take a look at that list and that's just by the end of the year. Me thinks you need to do a little more research before you start saying things like that.
> Of course Resi Evil, Eternal Darkness and eventually Final Fantasy
> will come to GC too, but what else ? I really don't see much thats
> appealing coming to GC that isn't going to be on the X-Box.
Maybe not appealing to you but it appaeals to a hell of a lo of other people. I see nothing really appealing other than a few 1st person shooters on the XBox that wont be coming out on GC.
> Not only that, but if Microsoft pull off a winner with X-Box Live and
> console online gaming becomes popular,
That's a hell of a big if, it wont take off in this Country so I don't really see it affecting us over here anyway. As Microsoft have been finding out the Japanease don't care so it just leave it to America and judging by Xbox sales figures over there there's nothing to be worried about.
Nintendo's
> online plans are basically Phanstasy Star Online.
Nintendo don't think the future of gaming at the moment is Online gaming and I agree with them. I would much rather they put the money into developing new innovative single player experiences.
>
> Nintendo have the home grown titles, but they're going to need a lot
> more than that.
Further proof that you haven't actually looked at the release list.
At the moment the line up of games is looking no
> bigger than the N64's before it and the majority of those games is
> still the same kind of games as before.
How can you say that? oh dear you really haven't got a clue about Nintendo have you?
>
> Microsoft have shown a lot of determination to succeed on the games
> market and looking at the ideas they have for the future
what like their new 'major innovation' you can video television prgrams on your X-Box, ha ha since when has a games console needed the facility to record TV programs.
along with
> the list of upcoming games, things are looking very impressive.
Yes very impressive, but only if you want to play 1st person shooters, Army strategy games the occasional driving game a bit of originality from Sega or *sniggers* Midtown Madness. A bit of variety goes a long way these days.
Look mate at the end of the day you're gonna defend your console till you're blue in the face and I don't blame you, i'd do the same. Maybe just for one minute you should remove the blinkers from your eyes at actually look at the big picture. Yes there are a lot of games coming out for XBox but the majority of them people can pick up on the PS2, and judging by the sales of PS2 most people will. No-ones gonna run out and buy an X-Box just because it has a few graphical differences, it aint all that. ALso this whoel X-Box live scheme is only gonna take off with hard-core gamers, most people cant afford broadband and they certainly can't afford the extra cost Microsoft are gonna be charging on top of that.
Basically what i'm trying to say is X-BOX SUCKS MENS PENIS'S :P
God I always try to not get involved with these damn console wars things but I can't help myself.
All 3 consoles line ups are nice. Lets leave it at that.

Well as you asked for there is a list of most of the games that will be released on the Cube in Europe by the end of the year. Now I don't know what you think but as far as I can see that's a hell of a lot of games. Some very crap some amazingly good. Out of that little lot I want 30 which as far as i'm concerned is enough to keep me going I think.
At the end of the day no console is better than the other it's just up to you which one appeals, GC appeals to me cause I have better taste than the majority of you :D
Oh and don't mess with the Gamecube games cause we've got Sponge Bob Square Pants and you haven't :D
