Anyone heard any more info about which version is better xbox or gamecube? I've already read that the ps2 version has choppy frame rates and missing animation (still probably a great game if all you have is a ps2 though) but no one seems to know which is the better of the 2 newer formats. I am so keen to get my mitts on this game but having both systems don't know which to get and also just plain interested in which is better anyway. Acclaim themselves obviously aren't a good source as they claim practically all three are identical when clearly they are not as the ps2 version is struggling. Anyone seen any e3 comments on this game?

i agree with you all the way there mate :-)
i feel very comfortable playing Halo with the design of the XBOX's pad. Turok Evolution'll be just as nice ;-)

Of course though when he made this claim he was stating all versions will have the same levels, weapons, enemies etc. It will be the same game but each console will have graphics optimised for that system and of course each version may have different speed problems related to how powerful they are. As I understand it the ps2 version has missing animation in some dinosaurs to keep the speed up, plus its at a slightly lower resolution at about 640x400 compared to gc's 640x480 and what ever the xbox is (slightly higher I think). Lets not beat about the bush inherently the ps2 has problems with this type of game and from what was said at E3 the ps2 version of this game is the worst. However no one has yet made a statement regarding which is better gamecube or xbox. I would guess they were pretty similar at E3.

It is true that the Playstation 2 can't handle as much as the GameCube and X-box (despite the specs the PS2 supposedly has) so it doesn't suprise me that there's any choppiness on the PS2.

If there is, that's the hardware's fault. The games are bing made exactly the same for each console. The fact that some idiots claim the GameCube can't do outdoor stuff on Turok is absolute bull, seeing as I've seen it in motion.

This contradicts the information I've already got that the ps2 version had choppy frame rates and missing animation. The view of Playnation magazine seeing all three running was that the ps2 was weaker and not as good as the gc and xbox versions but they didn't say what was better out of xbox or gamecube because obviously playnation is a ps2 magazine so its not really part of their remit to say.

Its official that all acclaim games are truly fantastic.... source=acclaim.
I mean come on what the hell are you doing believing software company pr. I've already seen comments that at e3 the ps2 version had choppy frame rates and missing animation compared to the other two versions and this was in playnation magazine a ps2 magazine. If you want to pretend the ps2 version is just as good then ok but I'm interested the reality of the situation and that is which is better xbox or gamecube?

Actually I was replying to the 2 mongs that came in here a couple of days ago Edgy. As for Turok Evolution, if there are any differences between the versions as far any polished look goes then we'll see on the day. As far as playing the game goes, I think the X-Box controller is better suited to FPS so I think it will be more comfatable to play on the X-Box. Don't think I'd like to play the game on a GC controller and I think the analogues are too close together on the PS2 pad. Of course this is MY opinion before I get the Ninty brigade screaming at me. ;-)

Savatt, you've gone right off the point!

It's OFFICIAL that all three versions of Turok Evolution, that's the GameCube, Playstation 2 and X-box version are EXACTLY THE SAME! Get issue 2 of G-Force with the DVD that contains the interview with the bloke in charge of the team who make the Turok games!

Sure, the X-box has more power than the GameCube in some aspects, so bloody what? The games are all going to be exactly the same, so power doesn't come into it!
