Which I thought was a pretty cool thread, I enjoyed visiting members sites, seeing what they had done...
Unfortunately, I seem to remember that thread kinda degenerated into an argument about whether people were web designers or not?? ... I dunno...
Recently, I’ve seen a few 'criticise my site' threads about, which seemed to be doing pretty much the same thing, but on an more individual scale...
I was thinking that maybe we people could stick links to sites thy have created in this thread so people could compare, and discuss what we had done, how to improve, get some new ideas and some fresh perspectives?

I did this for my cousin's wife. Things to bear in mind:
a) I don't claim to be a website designer!
b) It was created using DreamWeaver
c) I was not paid for it
d) I'm not a graphic artist, so logos are very basic
e) It was put together in spare time between work and playing games!
So be gentle! :-)
I may make improvements as and when I get time, or if I get paid!

(still being played with, may actually finish it one day)

(Had to get this in really)
Corporate projects...
http://wip.blackwellpublishers.co.uk/wwwBPSBlackwell
(Online Bookshop. Only a couple of menu items work on this as this is still in very early stages. Still awaiting sign off on functional spec, will contain my fors shopping cart.)
http://wip.blackwellpublishers.co.uk/blackpub3/
(still in bloody development, but that's what happens when MIS monkey fail to build decent data warehouses!)
Then theres Polity, but you'll all have to wait until I've finished this one before anyone gets to see it! Only 4 other people in the compnay have seen this site...
Go for it, pick away. Interetsed in what you think Nimco, all my other sites I've done are available through the portfolio section of my website.

This is starting to look really nice, though today I'm looking at the intro using my work pipe! Fisrt problem... It doesn't work in NS4.79, not just slightly... in fact, not at all!! Though.... Looks really good in NS6.22, though the £'s render oddly?
My only other comment.. It's looks a little lost on the page with all that white space, especially when viewing it maximised at 1026?
It all centres nicely. Had a cheeky look at your CSS file too... looks good.
Need some screenshots in the portfolio to liven it up a bit, and for now, I would suggest removing anything which refers to "Under Construction"
Not sure about your pricing. You'd be amazed what people are "willing" to pay if you don't tell them. I landed a job sometime ago for a designer jewellery firm to redesign their site. It was tiny, but they paid me £2000 for it... Always avoid putting pricing on anything unless it's hosting/Url related. I charge an hourly rate depending on the work involved (£35ph Coding £75ph Graphic Design/Flash), or a daly rate agreed by the client I also write into my contracts a 10% fee for updates based on the origonal set up cost of the site so if the site cost £3k to build, the annual update fee would be £300.
Offering a full Business site for £500 is asking for trouble as you will get some clients expecting the world for that price. Could you imagine trying to build the Blackwell Publishers site for £500?
Nice work Andi... Like it a lot...

Heh, I created it at 640x480 :)

Hm. I've considered this, but I feel underlines spoil teh stylish look.

Erm?

It's built in to the scripts. I could change it, but I think it's better than not. I'ma stickler for consistency.

The whole site is mostly pointless! :-D

Heh, thanks.
My current project is http://andi.ath.cx/files/new%20L2/
pretty much all my work can be seen on http://andi.ath.cx, it's a server running on me computer over me ADSL connection.

OK, here goes. First the good points:
- Colour scheme works well
- I like the ability to remove bg and change text size
- Good margin width
- Cool logo!
- Clear navigation system
- Scales well onto smaller screens
Areas for improvement:
- Consider removing underline when hover on hyperlinks rather than other way around (makes them more easily recognisable)
- You don't have a DTD Declaration!!
- -={Title}=- gets a bit repetitive - save it for navigation system
- Page stats is pointless (cool but pointless) lol
On the whole, a damn good site!
