Hmmm, who can I think of that was quoting sales figures, and something about Xbox selling really well in Australia or something like that...? Oh yeah, it was YOU! Oh, looks like you're being a hypocrite AGAIN doesn't it.

With memory cards, you only really need one if you need to take info to and from a friends house. At most, one memory card is all you will ever need though and only for that reason. Most people I know don't even take their games saves out of their house.

As for the DVD kit, its there for the people that want it rather than adding more to the price of the console. I have a multiregion DVD player, so I don't need it and I'm happy not to have to pay extra for something I don't need or want.

Also, there was a comment by Rinoa slipped in saying how many online consoles have ever been successful. The fact is, before now, the Dreamcast is the only console thats had online capabilities and this console failed purely on the fact that people were holding out for the PS2 based on Sony's reputation. It was an excellent console with some great games and deserved more than the bum deal it got.

In my opinion, online gaming is definatly a direction that needs to be taken because there is so much potential with it. Forget PC's and online FPS experiences and think of what else this area offers. FPS games aren't everyones idea of fun, but think of other genres that you DO like and think of how online gaming can really evolve them.

You like RPG's - think of a huge community full of towns, etc which are full of other players all co-operating or fighting. Your no longer simply talking to CPU placed characters that say the same lines over and over again, your talking to another person who could thousands of miles away. You can meet people who may help you by giving you items or a new weapon, etc.

If you like sports games like football, imagine how great it would be to have 11 players vs 11 players, all of you having a role to play in getting your team the win. Think of this with any sport of your choice. Of course communication can be difficult, especially when you look at the use of a keyboard on PC's. But Microsoft (and no doubt other companies if the idea is successful) are working on a headset so that theres no longer any need to type on a keyboard as you play. Besides being able to communicate with other players, you can even change the sound of your voice with the headset so that you can sound more like the character your controlling or just do it for a laugh.

I won't go any further right now with the ideas, but overall all genres can be covered online when you think about it and all of them can offer a great new experience. This is why I have a lot of time for the X-Box, its looking towards opening these areas up to games players and giving us these experiences. Nintendo can make games, no doubt about it, but I'm a little disappointed in the way that they are holding back and just giving us what we've seen before but with better graphics.

I agree there :)I don't think it deserved even half the success it gained, but that's just my dislike for Sony's interferring in the market lol

£5 difference really isn't that much. Considering you need the memory card, but most people won't have much use for the Remote. Which is why I think it's a good thing that ninty didn't even bother going down that street.

Don't get me wrong, I have a PS2 and I like it. But I think sony is getting more success than it deserves.

Yes. The PS2 doesn't need a DVD kit. But it DOES *need* a memory card! This costs around £30. I don't need a dvd kit for my Xbox as I already have a stand alone DVD player, and my PS2. So I don't need another one. A nice saving of £30 there...

Xbox is not easier to program because of it's speed! It's how the games are read by the console, the power and speed mean nothing!
You complete muppet!

You really think that you are going to be able to sit down and quickly download a demo with your Xbox!?! We are talking over 12 hours per game, most probably longer!
Again, you complete muppet!

if you want in game music, stick your hi-fi on you will get better sound.
Don't need improved loading time with a cube 3" disc does nicely.
Modem on its way( ever know a console to sucssesful with a modem, althogh capcoms idea to allow to play online with all 3 consoles is good thing, playing PS2 VS GS steet fighter or joining on a RPG Team sounds good )

DOA3 is so simmular to DOA2 original or what? Resident evil has never tried to Halo so stop compering the two.(joe dark or Die Hard would be better, but still don't try they are stiil better)

stiil none of you have a come back fo the DVD kit or my Merory card point. Please get of your cloud!! or in built features in or graphics system. the ps2 doesen't need a dvd kit, yes i know you can buy one. if you want to check the line up check the nintendo web site.
