If we weren't ready why would Microsoft be designing a stand alone game:
Halo Online
If you don't belive me then check gamespot as they have information it. The way the game is going to run is unkown yet but it looks very promising and exciting to me!

Stricktly?!? Oh well....
It was a waste of time putting broadband connections onto the Xbox, not many people have Broadband and therefore only a few people will really need to use the modem.
Microsoft should have left the modem to be an extra, the console would then be cheaper to most people who would not use the internet on it and if you did have broaband, you could just buy the add on which would bring the total price up to or around what it is now.
As far as I am concerned, having a modem default on a console is a waste of time and money...
We arn't ready yet!

Not stricktly true! If you get an ethenet (ignore the spelling) then that goes directly into your X-BOX without having to go via your PC but if you have standard broadband or standard modems then you have to run it through your PC and then a wire from there goes into the back of your X-BOX. With this you can use a standard modem to play with your X-BOX console but they do advise broadband otherwise it will be too slow! So it is not a waste becuase everyone can use it, maybe not as fast as they want but it is a start until they can get broadband. This is not a shot at GameCube owners but correct me if I am wrong but isn't this more than you can do?

Buh? I must say this Rinoa person has been on the Ninty forum a bit, but is hardly someone I would call a Ninty regular, and has been here about I week I would guess... Anyway, obviously not making the most intelligent of posts, but I hope you realise this is not what most nintendo fans on these forums are like.

Hey Savatt!
LOL, that was my plan and I got the big TV last christmas but I am after the Dolby 2.1 sound kit for the X-BOX at £39.99 and when Halo comes through this week I should be set up for quite a bit. With RalliSport though I have alreday put songs onto the Hard Drive so they can be played back which I am really looking forward to! Do you know if Dead Or Alive 3 supports this becuase that is coming tomorrow?

You look at how many people have got broadband!
Most XBox owners have just forked out loads of money to pay for an extra feature they will never use!
Only a few people have got broadband here and it's great for them, but for everyone else, it's just made the console more expensive and larger and they will never use the feature unless they all get Broadband...
Someone said just turn your Hifi on but then you have to turn all the in game sounds off and some games have important markers and it is nice to listen to the ingame sound effects. Also I do not have a Hifi but my TV is a really good one and the sound quality is amazing. With this I am going to buy the Dolby 2.1 soundkit for my X-Box to get full surround sound for when I buy the DVD Playback kit for my 17 DVD's. The Hard Drive is brilliant and when the internet becomes available it will come into use more than ever, great stuff I can't wait.
Basically Rinoa, you must have a busy life girl cause this "waste of time" downloading music onto the hard drive takes about a minute per track. I have around 15 tracks on my hard drive so far and they haven't made a dent in my hard drive space. As for putting the stereo on, yeah, of course people can do that, the downside is that in doing so, you have to give up the games other sound areas too such as speech, etc.
In some games you need to listen out for vocal pointers to tell you the way to go, etc. Having this idea for the X-Box play your tracks means you can have your favourite tracks in games while not sacrificing other elements of sound that add atmosphere to the game such as speech, explosions, etc.
No doubt if the PS2 of Gamecube had this ability it would suddenly become the best thing since sliced bread to you. Keep arguing girl, your the one looking the muppet the more you post in here.
