yes i know its an operating system so there, but didn't you see them releasing a linux package for the ps2, which allows you to program you're own whit, so you can all stop talking out of your arsses, and get real!
oh yeah don't forget im 23, not 15, so alot has changed in the world of education.
i did pascal ages and ages ago, we had to program a binary converter, and yes it is a lot more complicated than what you think, because we also had to program it to add and subtract binary, and watch out for overflows. of course i bet you know how to convert to binary, but can you add, subtract, and may i dare you to multiply and divide binary, hmm have a go. especially when you are not just dealing with 8 bits, but 16, then life can be hard...

As I said, it's the AS and A2 courses (6th form) where you get onto the programming, although at my school, the lower years are learning HTML scripting already.
