I reckon it should be legalised as it is not addictive and does not lead to harder drugs, although it would be hard for the government to tax.

Cannabis - Yes or No.
This topic sounds like a Tamara Beckwith charity do now.

There is very little you can do without effecting others

Not in the slightest. Tobacco is a nicottine based relaxant, while canabis is a mild anaesthetic. In essence, you are far more likely to kill yourself by not having the understanding to moderate the anaesthetic than you are of smoking yourself to death in a single session. Unless of course you have a medical degree.

The law controls what you intake for good reasons, and it doesn't go far enough to be honest. Tobacco should be banned, so too should alcohol. Why? because people CANNOT be trusted to use them in moderation.
Yes, i fully believe people should have the right to choose when to die, under certain circumstances. But beyond that, it is for the state to decide what we have available to us to live our lives with. Personally, I would rather live my life without school kids smoking anaesthetic drugs before they have a clue what they're doing. Besides which, everyone knows that legalising cannabis in this day and age would set a very dangerous precedence. What would come next? The legalisation of speed, heroin or lsd? Does that sound stupid? So did the idea of legalising cannabis 10 years ago. If cannabis gets legalised, eventually so will everything else. Then, I hope whoever campaigned that way knows who to blame when their children get sold hard drugs on their way out of high school, or get mugged so someone else can buy them.

As stated above, both alcohol and smoking should be prohibited for the safety of the public, but it will never happen. And until there is conclusive proof that mobile phones are bad, they too will never be banned. In fact, the evidence swings the other way at the moment, hinting at enhanced hand-eye co-ordination for frequent mobile phone users.

Alcohol - End Of night fights
Cannabis - No such problems.
Cannabis is better for you than alcohol (the only bad thing is that it is normally mixed with tar induced tobbaco
If it were to be made legal the quality would be better.
People will always have an informed choice.
The student population of britain is generally quite into there cannabis, from what Ive seen (and ive seen alot)
These aren't great reasons but its a start
Think about it- if you can't smoke canabis, then why should you be allowed to smoke tabacco? They're exactly the same!
I don't think the law should stop you doing things to your own body- you should be allowed to do what you want (so long as you are not ina position to be able to make that choice). For that reason I believe in drugs being legallised and euthanasia being made legal in exceptional circumstances(of course, with strict controls).
To say that the law should stop people harming themselves is correct- we should help people cutting themselves and committing suicide. But the fact is that drugs aren't harming your body any more than smoking, drinking alcohol, and probably using a mobile phone!
