Roadrunner held a funeral for nu-metal in Australia.

And proper rock is coming, mark my words.
No more will we have to listen to sulky blokes in big shorts with turntables telling you how hard school is or how much you hate your mum and stuff.
(Heard the new Papa Roach single last night, ends with the refrain "Life's not fair! Life's not fair! Life's not fair!", classic comedy)

No, true rock is coming. And it's coming wearing jeans, smoking unfiltered cigarettes, clutching a beer and refusing to leap about in videos.

And, for my money, leading the pack is a top, top band I just fell into called "Soil".
Think Pantera mixed with a bit of Clutch, some Prong.
Go download a tune called "Halo" to get a taste.
Essential ROCK.
Not nu-metal or "emo".

"Emo"...*shakes head*
Should be called "Chicks like rock too".

Nope, here comes ROCK to teach you how to play like your life depends on it.
Soil - "Halo".
Go get some.

Get some tracks from the new Weezer album coming out on the 15th, called Maladroit. Slob, Dope Nose, Death and Destruction and American Gigilo all sound quite good. Even better, get the album. Only 9 quid delivered from Play.com.

I've got the Green Album, but Pinkerton is a much better example of emo. It's their best album. Although Simple Pages from Green is brilliant. Watch out for a chap named Mr Happy, he likes emo too.

Firstly, sorry for all the mad posting. Now that I've got that out of the way, what programme did you use to make your own mix? Or are you one of those lucky gits with a 'proper' mixer? ;D

I have to stick with Adobe Premier methinks. My Franky Goes To Hollywood megamix rules :)

Excellent, more Weezer fans about, good. 'The Sweater Song' is a truly amazing piece of Weezer and music in general. However, their live performance on MTV2 of it failed to impress me. Rivers Guarco (sp?) really is a nerd ;D

Oh, and 'Island In The Sun' sucks, but the rest of Weezer is good. I need to pick up 'The Green Album' soon. Any download recommendations for Weezer?

Music has been getting a lot better lately. I've actually got the top two albums in the chart (Doves and Badly Drawn Boy) and I also got (well, copied) 'G-Sides' by the Gorillaz. All top music that I like. Plus I did the final mix on my music tech project today - I'll upload it at the weekend.

Whooo! I'm not the only rockafella here then? ;D I heard 'Halo' a few months back, and it's a quality song. The drumming is spot on, and you'll never here anyone in Nu-Metal wail like this man can! Anyone seen the video for this song? It's class! One of the guitarists strums his guitar extremely hard, and it snaps into two pieces!

On another note, Papa Roach's new album is called 'Love, Hate, Tragedy'. Methinks it's another attempt at getting an album to sell because of it being hyped as controversial. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Papa Roach (shame on me), but Rock music is made for angry people, and I am indeed one of them ;D

Glad to see that you're posted this, and I hope to talk to you about Rock in the future. What bands are you into?
