And proper rock is coming, mark my words.
No more will we have to listen to sulky blokes in big shorts with turntables telling you how hard school is or how much you hate your mum and stuff.
(Heard the new Papa Roach single last night, ends with the refrain "Life's not fair! Life's not fair! Life's not fair!", classic comedy)
No, true rock is coming. And it's coming wearing jeans, smoking unfiltered cigarettes, clutching a beer and refusing to leap about in videos.
And, for my money, leading the pack is a top, top band I just fell into called "Soil".
Think Pantera mixed with a bit of Clutch, some Prong.
Go download a tune called "Halo" to get a taste.
Essential ROCK.
Not nu-metal or "emo".
"Emo"...*shakes head*
Should be called "Chicks like rock too".
Nope, here comes ROCK to teach you how to play like your life depends on it.
Soil - "Halo".
Go get some.
You all must download : Snapcase - Bleeding Orange.
"You're not punk and I'm telling everyone!,
Save your breath I never was one."
Check them out, you won't regret it.
Pantera, Coal Chamber and quite a few more......
Sepultra maybe??
Can't remember, I haven't listened to many of her albums, but I probably should.

Yep, Clarity sits right near the very top of my pile of CD's which are in my liking order :-)
And Bleed American? It isn't there.
Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American. Cheesy Blink style crap punk.
The difference between emo and crap.
That song is annoying and not to my tastes. It's bloody popular at the moment too. I can see why Goaty likes it in his own mind though.
Emo-core is my favourite type of music. For people who don't understand what that is, its emotional-hardcore. I hate the emo tag though, it is very overused and the sound is just not right.
It's like Emo-core, it doesn't want to make you cry, it's just got added touches which make it beautiful. An album like Far's 'Tin Cans With Strings To You' is a prime example of this, with that album being labeled emo-core but it is a pretty heavy album. Another is Texas Is The Reasons 'Do You Know Who You Are?'.
The main point here is that it doesn't have to involve an acoustic guitar to be classed as emo, it's all about the lyrics mainly.
If yu get into the scene they call Emo you will find out much of the music is more like the post-hardcore scene. It's just a shame people read the name and don't notice that.
Bands I class as Emo -
At The Drive In
Boy Sets Fire
Dashboard Conffesional
Deftones
Division Day
Far
Hundred Reasons
Incubus
Jimmy Eat World (can be VERY cheesy like trying to shout out 'THIS IS EMO')
New End Original
Onelinedrawing
Poison The Well
Quicksand
Rival Schools
Sensefield
Snapcase
Sunny Day Real Estate
Texas Is The Reason
Thursday
Weezer
Those are some I listen to alot and most of them are emo though you wouldn't think they were. e.g Poison The Well, Snapcase.
Emo rules.
But Soil are touring with a band I do like - Adema. Yes, I know what you're gunna say "Nu-metal cack!" Well they're just who I like, and you don't have to like them if you don't want to!
Anyone heard of the band Halo?? I like 'em - and they're not nu-metal, kinda like Muse.
Manchester Academy wed 26th June
£8.50
Me thinks I may go check that one out then
I'd wash myself a lot and singalong with emo tunes.
> Mind you, so do I.
Anyone here not want to be a girl? If at least for a only weekend.
