PS2:
PROS: Relatively cheap, plays DVDs straight off, good games.
CONS: They still expect you to pay 30 to play 4 player.
XBOX:
PROS: Better graphics than PS2, built in hard drive, "soundtrack" option, 4 controller ports.
CONS: They still expect you to pay 30 quid to play DVDs.
GAMECUBE:
PROS: It's Nintendo, it's designed exclusively for gaming, its really cheap (130 quid)
CONS: It only plays games; no CDs, no DVDs, nothing.
So.. which one should you buy?
I have no idea.
But, the PS2 is fashionable, the Xox is powerful, and the Gamecube is small, and cute.
The best thing to do is go to a computer store, and play them. Or, wait till a mate gets one, play it, and compare to your other mates.
Or, buy all three. Trust me, that's better.
But...
What do you think?

I don't need a dvd player, as I have one in my pc, and one plugged into my TV, and I don't need a cd player for relatively similar reasons, so the other "extras" that the other consoles offer have no appeal.
The Game Cube sounds like a) a bargain and b) a fun machine.
If I want serious gaming, i'll use my PC. I'm going to get a Game Cube for some non-commital laffs.

The crashes are more GT3 than Burnout - not very exciting really.
I'm getting Burnout next week.

Ah. My outlook on racing games is "hold the accelerator, turn the corners as best you can"
Are the crashes any good? That's what annoys me about GT3, and what i love about Burnout.

Ripping my fave tunes over Project Gotham Racing is sweet - and unvailable on all other consoles.
