Personally, as an owner of a PS2 and an Xbox, and a soon to be owner of a Gamecube, I feel i can weigh up the pros and cons of all next-gen consoles.

PS2:
PROS: Relatively cheap, plays DVDs straight off, good games.
CONS: They still expect you to pay 30 to play 4 player.

XBOX:
PROS: Better graphics than PS2, built in hard drive, "soundtrack" option, 4 controller ports.
CONS: They still expect you to pay 30 quid to play DVDs.

GAMECUBE:
PROS: It's Nintendo, it's designed exclusively for gaming, its really cheap (130 quid)
CONS: It only plays games; no CDs, no DVDs, nothing.

So.. which one should you buy?

I have no idea.

But, the PS2 is fashionable, the Xox is powerful, and the Gamecube is small, and cute.

The best thing to do is go to a computer store, and play them. Or, wait till a mate gets one, play it, and compare to your other mates.

Or, buy all three. Trust me, that's better.

But...
What do you think?

I think that says something about your friends, rather than the quality of the game.

I don't need to, the game is gay, and anyone I know who played it got bored very quickly, started using the cheats to add some spice into the game, and suddenly found the entire experience to be mindnumbingly dull.

I think you just proved my point. Thankyou.

My problem is where to put my Gamecube - the Xbox and PS2 are taking up most of the space.

GTA3 is a great game! I know of no-one who owns a PS2 who hasn't got GTA3 and loved it.

And when i said "amongst others", it was because i couldn't think of any more.

oh well,

PS2 is definitely not for you then.

I'd have to say GTA3 is one of the best games on there.

Yep Indeedy, moved my PS2 (and its 16 games) out my bedroom today. GameCube has dethroned it.

Please read my previous post.

And yes, I've played quite a few games on the PS2, as my girlfriends brother owns one.

And once and for all, I'm going to lay this out to you all:

Grand Theft Auto 3 is quite possibly the WORST game i have ever had the sad miserable misfortune to play. Absolutely and utterly boring, and pathetic.

note my strategic use of the word "almost". I'm well aware that there are SOME good games on the PS2.

Some...
