In a moment of madness this weekend I bought an Xbox. I got an excellent deal but up to yet it's still sat in my bedroom all boxed up.

I don't why I bought it, well yes I do I wanted to play games and the offer was so tempting but now I'm having second thoughts. I'm not having seconds thoughts on playing games but on whether I should return the Xbox to the shop and swap it for a Gamecube, I have until Saturday to do this.

The Xbox looks good and I am so tempted to open it but then I think, well its only a few days until the Gamecube launches and I so much want to play Lugi and Sonic.

Now your all thinking why didn't I wait and just buy a gamecube? Well I thought I had made my mind up on a Gamecube but then I saw a better deal for an Xbox and then when I went to purchases this 'better' deal, I got an even better deal, so in the end It was simply the price that determined my choice.

Now what should I do?, what would you do?

I have sat at home the aforementioned Xbox and copies of Halo, Max Payne, Dead Or Alive 3, Artic Thunder and Mad Dash Racing. I could either keep this or return it to the store. If I returned it the store I would have the £300 again to spend on a Gamecube.

So It's the value of the Xbox and the temptation of online Halo or kicking ten bells of s=== out of my mates with DOA 3
VS
The 'cuteness' of that little purple cube and hours of endless fun with Lugi and Sonic.

What is a man to do? Xbox or Cube Xbox or Cube Xbox or Cube ....... Help!

BTW Playstation 2 is out of the question, Been there done that and Now that's GTA 3 on the way for the PC, the PS2 has no appeal.

my opinion. dont' swap it for:

a) a much lower-grade machine
b) a GC because you wannna play Sonic and Mario's brother. Sonic's tired if you ask me. i know Sonic's the logo but it's just repeating itself. change the record. and Mario and Luigi's the same. it's all the same over and over

go open your Xbox and f##king play it! :)

Its not going to be us invading your house to play the console you end up getting so why do you ask us what you should do? You know what you like (hopefully).

But if you really cant decide....

If you want the X-Box just for Halo then dont bother. The games good but its overrated. IMO It doesnt deserve the 9.5+/10 - 95+% that it gets from most places. Id give it about 8/10 - 80%.
But the same goes for the gamecube. If you want it for one particular game then its a waste of money.
Look at the upcoming games for both and decide which lot of games you like the most.

That is a VERY good feature which I like. Playing Amped and Project Gothem to your own selection of music is a very nice touch.

Keep your Xbox and buy a GameCube as well. Its only another £130!

I have a PS2 and my housemate has an Xbox. Soon we're thinking about getting a GameCube between us. Then we'll have all 3 consoles!

[After that we're planing never leave the living room! We'll live on takeaways and have a bucket in the corner for our excrement!]

I like the soundtrack - fits the game perfectly.
But I'm also looking forward to saving my favourites tunes to the hard drive and then playing them over the game..... another advantage of having an Xbox.

Already got a NES, SNES, N64, GBA, Game Gear, Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation, Playstation 2, Gamecube (in 3 days)! I've got enough games on those, and gonna get more on those, to warrent me not really wanting a X-Box. A bunch of my mates have X-Box's, so playing on theirs is enough for me!
