They have both already been made over too many times! Originals are the best.

How old does a game have to be to become retro?
because they still make neo geo games and some of the earlier games are retro i think (metal slug)

zool was as fast as the amiga got (lame game, James Pond 2 - Robocod was much better), but i believe it was more the MD and SNES didn't do very well stuff that the amiga did with ease Populous was awesome on amiga but sucked on MD. Flashback I remember got released first on MD but the Amiga version had the better quality rotoscoped player motion. The amiga was never meant to be a games machine anyways it was supposed to be a business machine but its gaming power lead it in a different direction as it lost out on the business front of things (mainly due to the fact it did play games well), the MD and SNES were designed with gaming in mind and did it very well.

Soloman's Key, Green Beret, Jetpac, Manic Miner, Speedball 2 on Amiga. Robocop, Enduro Racer, Chase HQ, Jet Set Willy...to name but a few!
Way too many to mention!

I remember River Raid! Wasn't it out for the Atari 2600. Great game!
