"Did anyone see Newsround a couple of days ago?"

Did any one see Newsround on BBC1 (or 2) a couple of days ago.
They got this geekey 13 year old kid to 'review' the Gamecube!
He said that the advantage was the price (that's not all!)
And the disadvantages were that it does not play DVD's or CD's (It's a games console NOT a multimedia console) and that you cannot play old Nintendo games on it.
THAT IS WHAT FLIPPEN N64's are for!!!
Do you know anyone who acctually plays old PS titles on their PS2?!?!?!?
NO-ONE cause sequels and better games have come out since three years ago!
Backwards compatibility does not matter.
The X-BOX was not backwards compatible. So you can't play early games on it. Does it matter? NO
Should Gamecube backwards compatibility matter? NO

The only PSone game I played on the PS2 was ISS pro evolution. As soon as Pro Evolution soccer came out for the PS2 the orginal PSone game was never touched again....

He said 'all your favorite character's will be performing on the gamecube' but that's what the other person said about the X-box and there are no legendary characters on the X-box like Mario, or Tombraider!

I play my PSone games on my PS2. I've completed FFVIII (finally) and 3 weeks ago I bought and thrashed WipEout 2097 out of sheer nostalgia. You don't get that kind of freedom with a GC, especially seeing as most people will sell their N64 to fund the new console.

I liked this post he has some strong views, don't you just hate it when you have someone who obviously doesn't like a certain console be forced to review it? Petina from Game-network hates the x-box and isn't too much of a Gamecube fan she mainly likes the PS2 and Dreamcast and this comes through with what she says...

The writer of Trigger Happy his name escapes me wrote a load of crap about the Gamecube about it being a childrens console... i tell you it would be a hell of a lot different if i was running the show!

So the kid says that the price is good but there is no DVD or CD player or no backwards compatibility... 1: If you resort to the previous console games then you've got a pretty s****y console 2: If you find the price an advantage then you wont want the DVD player as that jacks it up!

Did he not mention the games!

I play old PS games on my PS2.

Although I never owned a PS, so I was "catching up" on lost gems such as the FInal Fantasy Series and Metal Gear Solid.
