OK OK.... don't know if yo have noticed it but the PSX is one of the worst computers for build quality.

It may clearly be the BEST EVER for quality of games, but there is no point in all the games if the thing don't work.

From day 1 Sony have had to make constant changes to there little bundle of joy.

EVERY ONE i know with a playstation has had a least one problem with it. The common one being a piece of plastice flying off the middle.

By PSX does all of this, over heat, crash, bits of plastic braking off, works slow, can't read CD probley, etc. But the worst thing is i have NEVER cause any damage to the playstation or CDs. The only reason for these problems is cheap components.

Oh and guess what... I phoned up sony and they wanted £40 and my working (just) playstation for a recondintioned one, CHEEK, i could by a brand new one for £70 in specail reserve.

ANY WAY...all i really want is for sony to use better quality parts in the PSX2 'cause i am tired with th PSX being so cheap....

AND TO THE DELEVOPERS, good work keep it up y'all

Why do we have to pay £299 for a PSX 2 when the US is paying $299 [the equitant of £200]. I know that different parts have to be installed but I think it is a rip off paying £300 for the console and then having to buy games on top of that. All together it will cost about £400. I am going to wait until Sony realize they are too expensive and bring the price down because it is a waist of money paying that much for it.

The dispute between Nintendo and Sony occurred because Nintendo thought the future of games was on Cartridges, whereas Sony thought CDs were the Future...even though theyre easily copied

No.
Well actually I will be getting Dead or Alive 2 on my brand spanking new Dreamcast for Christmas. So we will both have it around the same time. So no, not in the slightest bit jealous.

Yes, this is true. To an extent. Actually Sony designed the hardware, but it was to be Nintendo marketed.

But don't you find it ironic that Nintendo decided to go solo, and then ended up a very distant second to Sony?

Does anyone know anything at all about the forthcoming games:
The Simpsons Wrestling
The Simpsons Bowling
There hasent been much info about them. Although I have heard a bit about the wrestling game, I havent seen anything about the bowling one. Can anyone tell me the release dates for these two titles?

CD's and cartridges both have their advantages and their disadvantages- they seem to be absolutely complete opposites. CD loading is, yes VERY VERY slow and there is always and tendancy of the disc failing to load because of scratches or warps in the disc. With cartridges however, the loading is instant as it makes a kind of extension to the CPU of the base unit(e.g N64) and with direct access, the memory access is considerably faster, but has a limited storage space(20 to 30 MB) compared with CD with 600-700 and DVDs with over megabytes worth of storage space. Nowadays, people are obcessed with good looking, deep involving games and you cannot do this with the limited space presented on a cartridge. That's exactly why the reason why Nintendo changed from its tried and tested approach of using cartridges to opting for the greater storage space of CD's/DVD's. If you want good looking and LONG games, your just going to have to wait for it to load!

Go to the Square site in the middle of next month at www.square-europe.com(I think its the 17th). Square are announcing the release date of FF9 then. Dont hold your breath though- it looks likely the game will not be released until 2001.
