I couldn't believe what I heard today in GAME, talk about being biased (and stupid)
Here's the scene
Today I was in GAME and this guy was advising some customer on which console to buy and roughly this is what he said.
PS2 - Most popular and BEST new console, plays DVD, CD's blah blah blah holds the GTA series and the new Vice city is out soon etc....
X-Box - The PS2's ONLY real competitor also plays DVD's, CD's blah blah blah features games such as Halo etc etc
Gamecube - People only buy these if they're a fan of Nintendo, you either love them or hate them, don't really compete with the PS2 and X-Box, a good choice if young children are going to play too, features games like Mario etc....
What the hell!? This is completely true and that is more or less the exact words the guy said, shocking! How are Nintendo supposed to sell when they get reviews like that from the people selling the console? I felt like jumping in the middle of the agreeing guy who was taking it all in and prove that sucker wrong (or something).

I'm only paid to make sure the customers leave the store happy (and with a loyalty card in their wallets :P), oh, and have nice chats with Codemasters reps who go and give the free copies of games to the staff higher up in the hierarchy (DOH!).
If I give information to someone, it's because it's something I believe to be right - if someone asks me about a game I've not played, and I don't know anything about it either, I'll tell them. If I've played a game and hated it and I'm asked about it - I'll tell them how bad I found it. If I loved a game (not physically :P ) then I'll tell the customers.
I wont go giving crap like "The PS2 is better than GameCube because it's by Sony" or stuff like that, not even if my job depending on it. I'll only reccomend the PS2 to someone if I feel it's the better console for that person.

Ive only been to 2 game stores and one was biased, luckly not the one i always go to.
Anyway my mate works at the biased place, the reason i was there, and this woman, 40 maybe not knowing anything about consoles, and the bloke was saying stuff like buy PS2 etc, so i lent over the counter and shouted to my mate in the store room, "id like to bring my PS2 back after finding out that GC has nearly all the same games with more exclusive ones", which is almost right.
The woman looked at the employee telling her to buy PS2 as it was the best and before you could say "Gamecube" she had slapped him and he started crying, lol never had such a laugh, she then went and got the GC :).
Maybe this answers the questions of where PS2 have been for ages, instead of making quality games they have been getting people in game to say the PS2 is best"...most of been doing it since the first year of PS1 then.
