There has been a lot of post's already about the new game but thought I'd add mine here. I wont go into all the stuff about team / player names and stuff cos that's all been done before - but why LOSS TIME ? what's wrong with Injury Time as in previous versions ?
Loaded up and went straight into an International game - easy setting England against Greece just to get used to the new feel etc. Won the game 12-0. .... 12-0 ? ok it was the easy setting but come on - how easy does it have to be ? Give Owen the ball and he just ghosts past eveyone and never misses. Hmmm..
Then moved up to medium difficulty and I must say it improved dramatically . 2-2 draw with the same teams. ( I won on penalties !)
Again moved up to the top level and lost first game 2-1. won the second game 2-1. Much more like it with the gameplay becoming much harder and the results becoming more realistic - England losing to Greece ? definately !
Some of the new animations are very sweet but I'm not sure about the trail that hangs off the edge of the ball when you shoot - that's a bit Fifa-ish to me. Commentary - though improved still misses out in many places. I was also hoping that they would do something to make the control more immediate. I still don't like the fact that you can hit the shoot button but the player will take another stride before reacting by which time it can be too late.
It also feels a bit clunky compared to Tif 2003. I think that Konami could improve the game by having the camera higher like in Tif so that you can actually have a better view of the action - there are times when you think you are passing forward to a player in PES2 and there is no-one there because the player is moving to a different position.
I think - though maybe it due to over familiarity with the control method etc - that PES is becoming too easy to play now, yes there are sopme new moves to get the hang off and some new button combinations etc but the game does seem alot easier to win at than the current version of TIF.
I think that many people have become too enamoured by PES and have just assumed that it will always rule over the opposition. To me - it is still a great game and I will spend hours playing on it but I personally think that TIF and PES now have an equal standing as joint leaders in the football games stakes. Konami need to do some radical overhauling to lift PES once more away from it's competitors.
*sighs*

You don't have a clue what you're talking about - Konami probably don't know if they've got FifPro for PES3. They probably don't even know if they're going to make PES3.
Heh, i got the first This is Football free from SR when it first came out! It was in the free box, in a demo disc case. I got home expecting it to be a demo but it was the full game!
Maybe i shouldn't have mentioned that...:D

What's This Is Fottball?

You think TIF 2002 is better than TIF 2003???

I had TIF 2002 and thought it was great but i dont think it was really a contender for PES which was better. This year i agree that TIF 2003 is a great game and this year it is a contender for PES2.
