According to sources, Xbox 2 games about to go into development are looking at the following specs as a guide: 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 central processor, 512MB of RAM, NV30 graphics chip.
"People are very edgy about this due to some serious NDAs [Non-Disclosure Agreements - Ed]," said one insider under conditions of strict anonymity. "But you have to understand that this is simply Microsoft getting ready for the next round of development. These specs are pretty widely known in the development community right now."

It's looking hefty, and more and more like a PC every update.

Listen, idiot, and listen well. Your dispicable attitude towards newbies is typical of these forums. To my eyes, Ratatattaatatataaoooei said nothing I would deem worthy of a riposte. Sure, I'm biased towards PCs, but if you take the average PS2 game, and pump it up to 1024x768 resolution, it'll look like only so much crap can. PCs require more power because they generate images of FAR higher quality. Simple. And nowhere did the guy say that he DOESN'T own a console. IF he comes back after your blind admonishion, perhaps he will say he does own one, or more consoles. But after facing your arrogant stupidity, his re-appearance cannot be guaranteed.

Don't bother, your attitude will reap enough deserts without you trying any harder.
I may be bad, but I feel... nonchalant.

Don't worry, I'm sure there are plenty of people around who would pi$s on you.
Moron.

After SNES - Mega Drive, I don't think so.

It's not even going to be a console, more of a chip stuck in your TV.

After the Ex-Box I'm not so sure

Ninty president said that console hardware has reached it's limits, are you sure?

Games today are more repetitive than ever.

I second that though.

'admonishion' - oh dear!
Hmmm, and for a minute I was beginning to believe that I may have found an equal with regard to the correct use of the English language and the intricacies of its grammatical presentation.
I will look forward to a return to form in the near future Insane Bartender!

Yeah, I completely forgot how to spell it, but didn't expect anyone else on here to know the difference.
The word "busted" springs to mind.
Bah, one word out of the 233393 that I've posted on these forums is still an impressive record.
I plan on just keeping my PS2 for at least the next three years or so...
What is the point of a 2.8 ghz processor?
This happens in PCs, and look, even the most graphically impressive PC game has '400mhz' as the recommended spec, games just don't use that much power.
Your will end up paying crap loads for this when it isn't even needed.
