I, Like most other Nintendo fans would literally KILL to get hold of a proper UK version of the 'Q' Cube, not just some tat imported from Japan and modified. If we all e-mailed Panasonic and DEMANDED they release the thing over here they might just take some notice (Its only a might though)! All you need to do do is type in Panasonic.co.uk on your web browser and press the 'contact us' button then send your 'request'!

I will warn you though that you will undoubtedly get fobbed off with every excuse under the sun about why they wont release it (as I have). Just keep on e-mailing until they do release it!

The more of us that do it the more it might work!

Exactly!

Theres always a way around these things! Despite what Microsoft say, X-box Live can and will be hacked, as can any other computer network.

My point was I bet there is someone out there who has already figured it out.

there is no way of doing it now, due to the new way discs are created.
NTSC have lockout that PAL cannot understand.
its just the way it is, of course they are bound to figure it out eventually.

but by that time something new will be out and the discs will be encoded a different way.
nothing is impossible nowadays, but there is always a backup to any way out.
its the way technology goes.

take DVDs for example, RCE is/was apparently impossible to get around. if you had a mod chipped or hacked DVD layer, these region 1 (american) DVDs would not play over here.
so far i have not had one disc that hasnt played. people will always find a way over things.
its what we as humans do

lol, im not agressive towards anyone, i am just stating a fact. there isnt a mod chip for JAP or US cubes to play UK games.

I was looking for one myself when i first got my cube back last september, mainly cos i didnt fancy spending loads on import games. but now that import games are only the same price if not less than uk ones i am ok with it

So of course, it's impossible to do this the other way round because...

lalala, i'm not listening!

you seem to be unneccacairily agressive towards whitestripes, alcofrolic.

could this be at your frustration at your mental imperitive to accept a JAP chip egsist. not commercially, but in the sense of bloke down pub with soldering iron.

they dont, the only way to do it is to use some kind of software emulator, like freeloader.
this adds in a boot sector in front of the disc data.
thats how the old PS1 mod chips worked, it boots the machine into a different zones format and then lets you change the discs.

converting it to PAL has nothing to do with it.
if this were the case why dont games get released in the US and UK at the same time?
it doesnt take that long to convert languages in the games, its the process of converting screen rates and resolution etc that takes the time

the majority of Japanese people can speak english and almost half, maybe more use it as their primary language.
I think the main reason for that is due to the large amount of companies and businesses over there deal with either US or Uk companies on a day to day basis.
Plus, the amount of tourists that visit Japan everyday is warrant enough for them to speak it instead of Japanese
