"Hindu over reaction at Hitman 2"

Ok, no offence to hindus but why are they having a go at hitman 2? How can they brand a game racist or immoral, claiming that the game is developed by men of mainly christian denomination, who have ignored the basic foundations of the Hindu faith, when pacifism is the Issue in hand. Christian faith is clearly a religion which is based around the issues of love and pacificism "love thy neighbour" "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, but yet i tell you to forget this". Yet to you see a mass uproar of christians campaigning over the fact that the first and last levels of Hitman 2 are perhaps the most violent in the game and involve in church massacres. The fact of the matter is that this is just a GAME, if you are immoral enough to run around with your silent berretta, double tapping bad guys in the head, and in game action actually singnifies desanctifying and commiting sin, then you are already immoral and sinful anyway according to the same logi, that in game actions reflect what shouldn't happen in life. Some people have gone way to far in there protests over the this game, and i hear some large chains have removed it from their shelves. This is clearly ridiculous. Mafia features a massacre at a funeral one of the holiest events in christian beleif where the body and soul are commited to God's care; yet there was no uproar at this. Some people need to face the reality that not everything needs a large reaction, and that somethings are really just harmless fun. Are they saying that, Violence and cold blooded murder is OK its only the location that matters? no, i don't think so. So its clearly a ridiculous over reaction.

Ah, but there were a few posts which I personally thought were far more deserving. Which only goes to weaken Belldandy's point, and strengthen mine.

Not that I can argue. I've made four games from whatever rubbish I've spewed on here, so obviously someone somewhere has a little taste.

Maybe it's an effort to spread GADs around a bit, but I think it just encourages more crap posts like "Vice City Rap" et al.

Heh, if people get away with restricting availability of a game strictly on the basis of who you kill, eventually it will be argued that killing any one person is the same as killing any other.

Then you won't be allowed to kill people in games.

Then they'll do the same thing with blood and violence and any other form of vice, and you'll be left with a market full of fluffy bunny games.

Nintendo will be the new microsoft.

Anyway, congratulations to the Sikh organisation that pushed for this, I dare say that they have increased game sales in the majority of shops that have not banned it - Newsround reported Woolworths had received 100's of complaints when the real figure is closer to the number of fingers on my two hands...but banning a low ranked chart title all makes for good family friendly PR doesn't it :)

Whatsmore, this weekend there have been more people ask for the game than before at just where I work, and interest prior to this week has been 0 - we'd sold about 3 copies - and people's replies when given the explanation are most definitely not understanding ones.

Has the Sikh organisation not wondered about the wisdom of banning a game predominantly appealing to males, and I daresay that, because of the percentage of the population mix, white males ? Not only have they needlessly annoyed many people, they've given the far right groups yet more material to add to their repetoire....nice move guys.

Expect to see;

* Starfox bannned by the anti hunt lobby - because Fox can be hurt in the game

*USSOCOM on PS2 banned as you kill non english skeaping terrorists - implying that everyone who does not speak english is a terrorists

*Conflict Desert Storm removed from sale - suggest the IRaqi army is hostile towards other nations and is racist.

*All Medal Of Honour games banned - shows Nazi's as evil killers

*Mario - suggest all Italians are cheeky plumbers

*GTA VC - Too many racist scenes/ideas to list

Oh dear, looks like no game will be safe.....

Y'see, games get a bit boring when some people don't take them for what they are, just games. Those who saw Hitman 2 as racist need to get a life, and if saying that makes me racist then it shows how stupid this country has become...
