Anybody experienced any lockups or freezes whilst playing their GC yet?

I just got my 1st lockup (Fifa 2003)

Ive had the console 2 months now and ive played Fifa many hours previously so its hard to pinpoint if theres a prob or if its one of those things.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Its never happened to me, but i know it happens. Its just one of those things.

Since I've had my GC (from launch day one!) I can honestly say only one game has locked up fo me and that was only once on Rogue Leader. Since then, it's been fine but if it keeps on locking up I'd recommend you get your console changed if it's still under warranty. Hope that helps.

no, had my gamecube since launch week and never had any lock up on any games ive played dont know if it really game specific but ive heard some people have had many problems on rogue leader,

GAME have a one year guarentee and you will be able to just go and change the hardware if you have any problems. If your local GAME won't do it, trek youself down to WImbledon with the receipt and I'll help you out.

Thanx for the reply... im all too familiar with lockups on PC games etc due to incompatibilty or driver issues mostly but its my 1st console freeze.

I bought it from game and the guy said i had a 3 month guarentee (i wasnt overly happy with that but the cube i got was new and was on special offer with RE thrown in) so i didnt argue or think twice, it was new afterall :)

I was just curious if this is 'common' but seems like it is (kinda) i just hope it isnt a regular thing, kinda spoilt the moment when the game froze (not to mention alot of panic and worry lol) :s

Dude, any disk loaded hardware can freeze lockup. Don't worry too much about it if its the first time. I think all my consoles have done it once or twice, and my pc does it once every disk :P

Its cool, but if it keeps happening seek a hardware swap (you should have a years guarentee).
