They spent 3 years developing Star Fox, and by all accounts, it's a linear piece of toss.
What was it? 5 quality games in 2 years?
HAAHHAAAHAAHA!
Seriously though, discuss...

Having done nothing constantly slate the Gc over the past month, I'm inclined to say yes.

To be fair, NOM are a complete bunch of retards, I expect even you could write a better GC mag than they could :)

It's a different game! Have you plaued Super Metroid? If not, I strongly advise you download ZSNES and download the ROM for it, now Imagine it in full 3D.
It doesn't have big open space team battles, what it does have is exploration, one large world (no levels) that you explore in, gaining access to new areas as you discover new upgrades for you suit like the grappling hook, the Varia suit etc. It has a thick atmosphere, twisting corridors, large underground valleys of lava, a jumping system that actually *works* in a FPS.
If you have a GBA get Metroid Fusion, maybe then you'll change your mind as you realise you could be doing that on your Cube.

Not in the topic I'm reffering to. The only mention of Halo/MP came from Tiltawhirl when he said "Will PD2 really be that special alongside Halo and Metroid Prime?" And for the record, you started the PD2 thing in a topic about SFA. As for the last two sentences there, I'm not sure exactly what your trying tosay. Crap is it? I haven't said anythings crap...

Like I said, it's multi-format media that has been saying these things, so yes, it is compared with other format's games. Starfox wasn't hyped either, it got two good reviews, and the rest slated it.

*sigh* Your missing the point.
You said that we're saying MP is better then Halo when we havne't actually played it yet.
Then you said that Halo 2 will be better than everything, but you haven't played that have you? So you were being a hypocrite.
And for the record, at least 2 people in the Nintendo forum own Metroid Prime, and Cooky's mate has it as well, so there is evidence to back up this hype.

Awwwwww
No hard feelings eh? If I've learned one thing from the internet it's that it's very easy to mis-interpret/understand what someone else is trying to say.
> Belldandy why don't you sell your Gamecube?

> You obviously don't like it so why own one?
Because I like the games I have for it, it's just recent releases have been major disappointments.
So far I've found Waverace, Rogue Leader, SSBM, Pikmin, Eternal Darkness, THPS3, Burnout, Luigi's Mansion and Timesplitters 2 and AUG 007 all great fun, and I love the Wavebird controller.
However I hate Nintendo's reluctance to get online, and their reliance this Christmas on a few games to save the day. Sales of the GC are taking a massive hit, and Nintendo just sit there saying they are here to stay.
As I've said so often, many on the Nintendo forum are so rabid that they assume anyone who questions their god is a non believer, and hence must be repelled with whatever they can muster. I used to think Xbox was rather poor, but it's steadily gained a great library of titles with some good Christmas releases that finally urged me to go out and buy one.
Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Xbox Live, Unreal 2002, Steel Batallion, buying Rare and all that brings, and much more. Ultimately Xbox Live finally did it.

Which would be why a Gamecube and Nintendo 64 are perched on a shelf below my Xbox yes ?

Both are great, as for jacking off...well this is the kind of comment I'd expect from a few people on the Nintendo Forum. Perfect Dark was better though, and NOM was really hyping Perfect Dark 2, until Rare went, when suddenly it became the game no one liked..strange that.

Wolfenstein on the SNES was the first decent FPS, and I do expect it to be special because it's got this new anime look. Crap examples BTW, Medal of Honour is great, Doom 3 and RTCW are virtually the same idea, Unreal is only really decent on multiplayer, NOLF is good but old, and no mention of a Spy In HARMS way coming to any console yet. Metroid - where are the vehicles, people to fight alongside, big open plan battles, and all the other different things in Halo ? Fighting in corridors is great, but it's nice to get outside every now and then.

Go across to the Nintendo forum and you'll find your friends there actualy kick started this. Crap is it ? So Halo is better then ? Lol I'd make up your mind.

I'll be excited when I've actually played it. AS Starfox has demonstrated, hype isn't necessarily the maker of a great game. Sure, compared to whats on the GC it may be the best thing since Nintendo found out using optical discs was a good thing, but what about compared to other titles on other formats ?

Nah, I sorted that, mum's lending me the money for Xbox Live, cheers for the concern though :p
~~Belldandy~~
You obviously don't like it so why own one?
Your just an X-box fanboy looking for any opportunity to insult any GC owners.
Strangely, not everyone has to jack off over Perfect Dark, I never liked it much, and if you were reading topics from a long while back, before Rare moved, you would have seen me clearly stating I thought Goldeneye was far, far better then Perfect Dark was.
Secondly you seem to have neglected an important fact, Goldeneye was so good because it was the first decent FPS on a console, do you really expect PD2 to be so special alongside Halo 1 & 2, Metroid Prime, Unreal, Doom III, RTCW, NOLF, Medal of Honour etc.?
And this Halo/Metroid Prime thing, you started it! A topic about Starfox Adventures, and suddenly you come in and start spouting crap about how we all know Metroid Prime is so much better than Halo!
When a game, one that was loved by everyone back on the SNES (Super Metroid) gets called "The best game ever" by IGN, told it's "so good it deserves it's own Gamecube" by Gamespot and recieves the highest praise, including higher scores than Halo, in every review, by multi-format media I might add, then wouldn't you be excited?
Of course that doesn't stop you saying Halo 2 is going to be the best game ever, have you played it? No.
You really need to get over this little problem of yours.
> If they hadn't left and still were loving nintendo you wouldn't be
> saying that
Exactly, go over to the Raving Mad Forum - sorry, Nintendo Forum, and witness several people claim that they were NOT looking forward to Perfect Dark 2.... lunacy, oh Metroid Prime beats Halo as well, because a)they care about that kind of thing over there b)Metroid hasn't even been played by most of them c)They still won'tget to play it until about March, making Halo a year old game, not surprising is a new game plays better than a year old one is it ?

Not exactly. Whilst Nintendo added polish to the game, gave ideas and overlooked it all, it was mainly Rare's work. Maybe it would have been worse without Nintendo, maybe it would have been better - we don't know.
> As we all know RARE wanted out even before microsoft jump the gun and

Sorry, but you're wrong. Rare asked Nintendo on many occasions to buy them out - with little success. It was Nintendo that made the decision to sell their shares in Rare to Microsoft, and the British developers had no choice. Trust me - if they did have one, Rare would go running to Nintendo.
