October:- 2 games thrown in for free the incredible Jet Set Radio: Future and SEGA GT 2002

November:- 2 games added for a mere £40 onto the price, two of the X-box's best games Halo and Splinter Cell, and thats including JSRF and SEGA GT 2002.

My point is that, whilst you and others are not bothered about online gaming, plenty of people are, and with Broadband prices being driven down every month, the lack of information is frustrating. Like you say, amny Nintendo games are really enjoyable - SSBM, hopefully the new Mario Kart, Waverace and many more, all of which are perfect online games. In America, rapidly becoming the most important territory in the world for gaming, Xbox Live is selling consoles and games, broadband availability is not such an issue their. Nintendo, Sony and MS all need to really push broadband, because you can bet any vital organ that come the next wave of consoles broadband plays a major part in them. It's the future for many forms of gaming, not just in terms of online play, but in communication, downloads, add ons, even whole games.

Sony has an unassailable lead this time round, but the next time is not so clear cut. All Nintendo and MS can do for now is battle each other and establsih large user bases for the next round, and try to attract attention from Sony owners. Whilst many of us here have more than one console, most people - those who really matter in this whole market domination equation - do not. They're the people the companies are fighting for. If Broadband cannot be made popular in the UK then broadband gaming will not fail, the UK will simply be left behind the rest of the gaming world.

Hey, I'm not saying your opinion is wrong.

Many people don't like Mario, many do. Many people don't like Halo, many do. Many people don't care for online gaming, many do.

The only time I objected to an opinion you expressed was over the online one. And that wans't with what you were saying, it was that you kept making post after post with exactly the same content in it.

I don't think Nintendo are the God of gaming, but I do think they make the most enjoyable games.

I'm getting an X-box for christmas, but I don't have any plans to take it online, because it's something I'm just not interested in.

To be honest I'm just getting sick of you constant negativity towards the GC, I've never heard you say a single good word about it, and proclaiming it as a failure because there are no concrete online plans it just absurd.

Well over 50% of next gen console owners won't go online with them, and I think thats proof enough it doesn't make or break a console, not this time round anyway.

Whatever, the Xbox has massively impressed me in terms of gmae's that are out now and the quality of them - if not quantity, as had Microsoft's Xboxlive from what I've heard of it. In addition, the wealth of quality looking, and different titles really appeal to me. I was really bored with my PS2, which led me to buy a GC in June as well, but now I'm rather bored with my GC, and sold the PS2 to get an Xbox. Sure, Halo was a big attraction, but it's basically the fact that the console, and Microsofts support of it, is fantastic and far excels, in my opinion, anything else out there. Strangely, a fanboy is not someone who disagrees that Nintendo are the god of gaming...

As a Nintendo GC owner I'm tired of games like Starfox, Resident Evil, and even Mario Sunshine, beiung hyped up, given good reviews, then turning out to be more graphical showcases than decent games in themselves. I'm tired of waiting for an online solution for the GC as well, I don't care for waiting for announcements from Nintendo - I want to know now. I'm tired of people promoting Nintendo as making original and innovative games, because largely they do not - Pikmin is the only real games like that, and it's premise is similar to lemmings anyway. Sure, there are very few original games out there, but they don't claim to be that. Heck, it's probably just me, but I can't seem to manage to play most of my GC games very long - probably played Waverace, Star Wars, Tony Hawks, Timesplitters 2 and Burnout the most, but the rest have had barely 20 hours, if that.

After so many disappointments - on the PS2 as well - then forgive me if I don not proclaim Metroid the greatest of games, or assume that Zelda will be the great RPG we hope it will be. I'm growing tired of hyped games, I'd just like decent ones, and something a little different that doesn't try to be revolutionary, but just add a little to a genre.

I, and everyone else, saw what happened to the N64, and the Dreamcast. Neither console deserved failure so early in their life, and when you see the games they had you wonder why ? In many ways both trashed the PS1 in terms of quality gaming, but both still failed. Sony are unshiftable this time round, but the next wave of consoles could change that, but I fear Nintendo's neglect of Europe, and new strategy, will finish the GC before its had a chance to shine.

Like so many on the Nintendo forum, you take my criticism of Nintendo to mean I have a hatred for them - I clearly don't, and I've had every console they've done bar the GBA, but as usual you all forget that...

I post in here fairly regularly - I have PS2 and a GameCube, but no Xbox. I don't stick up for one console over others, because I don't think the console matters at all; the games make or break it. No matter how many extra features a machine has, how low the cost or how great the bundles, I won't buy it unless it has games to interest me. I won't sl*g the console off, but the games. On the other hand, if a console has extra features totalling zero, but all the games interest me then I'll buy it and be happy with it. But I won't say "this console is great", because again it is the games that are great. I don't consider myself a fanboy to any console, although I do prefer the PS2 at the moment because it has more games that I enjoy. But I don't have the objective view of myself that you lot have, so maybe I am a fanboy without realising it.

I don't believe that I have to stay loyal to one machine or one company - if the PS2 and Cube started releasing games that were utter pants, and no good games were on the horizon for the next few years, I'd get out. Fanboys start to appear when people take loyalty too far, and for no good reason.

And this forum does have fanboys, believe me. I've seen them.

Well dig yourself a hole from the start why don't you, every console has fanboys. Ever read an early post from garbe?

yesss....okay mate. Over the last month you seem to have gone from being an alright person to a huge X-box fanboy, whats up with that?

Do you have any evidence of this? No? Why doesn't that suprise me?

Nintendo

If I cared about sales, I would be telling you how the Japanese sales of the GC actually make it have sold more untis worldwide than the X-box. But I'm not. In fact, in that post that was made in this forum, I said I didn't care. Go and moan at Tiltawhirl.

'We' are not a collective, I'm an individual person and you cannot describe me in general terms with other GC owners. I don't start topics about sales, I don't start topics about why the GC is so good, and I never have done.

We don't have "fanboys", just people sick to the back teeth of people who own a GC coming on here, and talking rubbish, ignoring the fact that many people own more than one console anyway. How many people from the Sony forum come on here, apart from Wookie ? Hardly anyone. Do any of us without a PS2 feel the need to post on the Sony forum ? No, because we're actually happy with our consoles.

I'm not even going to grace that comment with a decent reply, because it just makes you look more fanboyish ewvery moment...

Boss Pac Man is, and others from the Nintendo forum have been. People on here are open minded - but I feel your idea of openminded is "believe everything someone says and trust they are right" and that you feel we should neer criticise any console maker. Nintendo fans largely cannot accept any criticism of Nintendo - whether it be over a crap online strategy, slow PAL releases, lack of third party or whatever. Tehy deny it or say its part of some plan, and put their faith in announcements that are in the future. Microsoft has, with these price cuts and bundles, ensured that the console will be #2 this christmas, and maybe that is what sales obsessed Nintendo fans cannot stomach...

*waits for abusive reply*

Well if your going to talk aout favouritism, your probably the worst of everyone.

Any Nintendo fanboys come in then your more than happy to sl*g them off. But what about those X-box fanboys that post in here, do you have a go at them?

Of course not, because it's your beloved X-Box.

I have a go at X-box fanboys naturally, but in the same way if any Nitendo fanboy posts something like "GC is da best and exbox suks dunt u agre?" Then I'll tell them to pi*s off as well.

So naturally you decided to stoop to such a low level yourself? How intelligent.

Are you addressing Belldandy here? Because I certainly haven't said anything wrong.

Look around you, no one else is being abusive, your the only one who seems to have a problem with me, but thats just because your a die hard X-box fanboy at heart isn't it, no matter how much you try to cover it up with your 'intelligent' comments and supposed open mindness.

Well it took you nearly an hour to reply with that joke so how slow are you ? And I didn't reply straight away because I was looking at a thread which was actually intresting, instead of full of desperate Ninties... :P

Oh here comes "Mr Mature" huh ? More like a whiney mong that doesn't mind it when the X-Box is getting abuse but soon comes crying if its the GC.

Its quite simple - my friend told me this stuff cause he'd seen the advertisements and after seeing all the "desperation" comments and the free with corn flakes jab, I thought I'd mention them as a laugh in return.

Now go get your dummy and go home to the Ninty forum muppet.

Just to clear up your oh so mature 'joke'

If you buy a certain (expensive) phone from Argos, you get a free GBA.

I saw the TV advert for it once a while ago.
