"McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe is to leave to join rivals Mercedes.
The role Lowe will fulfil when he joins for 2014 is not certain, but he is expected to run the F1 team along with new Mercedes sports boss Toto Wolff.
He will be employed by McLaren until the end of 2013 on "gardening leave", but Ross Brawn's position as Mercedes team principal remains unclear.
McLaren have promoted director of engineering Tim Goss to technical director with immediate effect.
Mercedes are refusing to comment.
That set-up would appear to leave no room for Brawn in his current role.

Been a bit of carnage in Barcelona this morning, 4 red flags after cars went off including Webber.
They've been taking about McLaren's cars on Sky Sports News this morning, saying it's totally different to last seasons so this season may just be about getting used to it - not good news for Button.
Could work both ways. It's not difficult because the car is bad, it's difficult because they don't yet fully understand the differences. If they can get it set up right the big changes may be perfect for getting a head start.

But I do love settling down to watch in HD with full surround sound on and immerse myself in it!
Suzi has been really good with Motorsport coverage in the past, so I'm looking forward to her replacing Jake.
Yeah she's a good choice.
