OK, it's past time there was a chance to win an extra gaming prize. We've had a discussion in the office and decided to run the following competition.

For no particular reason, I've never really had an avatar image for the forums. The competition, put simply is just to design me an avatar image.

The winner would be decided by staff here at Freeola based on comedy value, artistic quality and overall eccentricity.

The creator of the winning image will then win a GAD prize as normal, offering any game up to the value of £45 or a £30 Amazon voucher.

Rules are as follows:

1) Please keep if family friendly - no obscenities or vulgarism!

2) The image size should be 80px by 80px.

3) This competition will run until the closing date of the 19th September.

4) You can only win if you have a UK address on your profile (this is where the prize would be sent), however still feel free to enter for fun if you are based outside the UK.

If you email any entries to [email protected], we'll put them on the submissions page as soon as we can so your entry can be seen. Don't forget to include your forum name.

Right, so the competition is closed and it's time to announce a winner. There have been loads of great submissions and everyone here seemed to have different opinions over which Avatar should win.

As there hasn't been an overall unanimous decision it's going to the one with the most votes, which was Sonic Chris's "Mr Dean".

Thanks for all of the hard work and submissions. This seemed to be more popular then initially expected. As soon as we come up with some ideas, we should be able to look at running some more competitions in the future.

Well, that's it then.

Great submissions from everyone, really enjoyed seeing all the new ones as they appeared.

Hopefully this might lead to more competitions like this in the future (if the staff aren't too tired of having to upload a whole bunch of pictures every day!).

Good luck everyone.

Wow, does that mean you've also climbed in Hobnail Boots?

Started with black plimsoles ... then Rock Hoppers came out with 'slick' soles for 'friction' climbing :¬)

Wow, does that mean you've also climbed in Hobnail Boots? We stopped by a book fair in Wales last year where I saw a copy of Joe Brown's autobiography. I was tempted to buy it until I saw the price tag (circa £200). Turns out it was signed just inside the front cover, so I put it down sharpish. It looked like a good read though.

They also had an extensive library on breeds of sheep... only in Wales.
